DIET

its a four letter word and this helps me think of it less as that. I have not tried the diet yet but it's on my to do list. I have already noticed that taking a probiotic is helpful for my weight just in a week. So I will be taking 7 weeks to see if the science is accurate for me personally.

Not just for those who want to lose weight!

If you could sum up The Microbiome Diet in three words, what would they be?

Heal Your Gut

What could Raphael Kellman have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I haven't finished it yet, but I'm hoping he provides some specifics about choosing pro-biotics and any supplements he recommends for healing the gut. There's a lot out there and it's confusing. For example, some brands of probiotics may be useless if they are dead on arrival.

What about Tom Perkins’s performance did you like?

Everything. He's easy to listen to, doesn't act like he's talking to a 5 year old, and he has a great voice.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

Your microbiome is your internal ecology. It's like a garden in your gut, and it will thrive on diversity.

Any additional comments?

I like the level of difficulty presented. It's easy to follow, yet I didn't feel impatient with it, like he was presenting the info to a small child. I'm not sure the micro-biome is EVERYTHING, but Kellman makes the case that the microbiome affects and mediates a myriad of processes in our bodies, and that it's important enough that I want to implement his suggestions for an even healthier me.

good suggestions inside, but a lot of repetion

good suggestions inside, but a lot of repetion makes it a bit tedious to listen to. still worthwhile

not good

the science in the beginning is great but when it comes to the diet part he only gives you lists of foods no real meal plan. never mentions any whole foods either just sides and spices.
