Publisher's summary

What in life is unconquerable; what survives? On The Faithful Gardner, Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes mines the rich storytelling tradition of her own family to unearth a series of lyrical stories that illustrate how faith is the one immortal force in our lives.

Raised by a family of refugee immigrants who revered stories as healing instruments, Dr. Estes tells these ageless stories first told to nourish, repair and strengthen - whatever is most needed and wanted.

VITAL YOU LISTEN TOO AND MEMORIZE FIRST PART

the first part of the book where she says..."there is something I want to tell you..." ....Before my boyfriend died he asked me to post the first quote of this book on facebook and I did. It was a quote he was going to lean on to recover from a stroke he had. I had told him to listen to this last year and he loved it...then the next morning after I posted this quote he died...so he actually left to me- I THINK a divine gift to helpl me deal with his death..he must have somehow known I would need it again and it would not been him that needed it. BEST QUOTE EVER! LISTEN TO THIS BOOK...VITAL KNOWLEDGE!

Great read, very cerebral, and emotionally moving

This book is beautiful, short and very meaningful. The narration is unlike any other, a must read/listen

Beautifully written and read

Enjoyed this reading and the story behind stories… very colorful and charming! Will share that definition with others. Much sorrows for your loss of Uncle; and many trees to be planted with him in mind!

Wonderful narration… the audio version of a “page-turner”

I wish this book went longer. It is short but wholesome and alive. I listened to it while cooking and had many moments where I would scramble for a pen and paper to write a phrase down. I can’t recommend it enough !

The earth is a great mother and teacher....

This is beautifully shared - stories inside of stories of a person's life and legacy. It's so well read that I had forgotten it was a book until the end. The author narrates so naturally you feel as if she's with you, wherever you may be listening, and is just sharing, being and passing this short time with you.
