Publisher's Summary

"Sweet spot". Golfers understand the term. So do tennis players. Ever swung a baseball bat or paddled a Ping-Pong ball? If so, you know the oh-so-nice feel of the sweet spot. Life in the sweet spot rolls like the downhill side of a downwind bike ride. But you don't have to swing a bat or a club to know this. What engineers give sports equipment, God gave you. A zone, a region, a life precinct in which you were made to dwell. He tailored the curves of your life to fit an empty space in his jigsaw puzzle. And life makes sweet sense when you find your spot.

But if you're like 87 percent of workers, you haven't found it. You don't find meaning in your work, or you're one of the 80 percent who don't believe their talents are used. What can you do? You're suffering from the common life, and you desperately need a cure.

Best-selling author Max Lucado has found it. In Cure for the Common Life he offers practical tools for exploring and identifying your own uniqueness, motivation to put your strengths to work, and the perfect prescription for finding and living in your sweet spot for the rest of your life.

The Cure for the Common Life

This was a wonderful book. I would recommend this for anyone wondering where life's road is taking them. Lucado makes you stop and think about the fact that God makes us and molds us into what HE wants us to be. A good listen - now I want the book in text version!

Redefined My Sense of Self and My Direction

First off, I read a lot of self-help books (predominantly Christian) and try to make the most of myself with what God has given me. This book BLEW ME AWAY. Lucado's ability to take nameless issues that pulled at my heart and define them opened my eyes to show me what God has in store for me.

While this book is certainly a must read, it's not a sure thing by any means. You MUST reflect and assess yourself while reading, but his style and humor make these efforts both fun and enlightening. He provided a new twist of self-evaluation techniques that I'd never read before and found to be quite effective.

This book is at the top of my list for recommendations to friends and family whether they're looking for a self-help book or just want a good read. Lucado finds a way to keep it light and fresh without losing the inherent emphasis on self-study and adaptation.

I consider this book to be an absolute companion to The 5 Love Languages, in my personal opinion. They both teach you how to love more efficiently and effectively. One for yourself, and one for others.

If you've ever wanted to do something for yourself, or desired a glimpse of what you're meant for, give this book a chance. It changed my life & I pray that it changes yours too.

10/10.

The Cure

I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this audiobook. I plan to listen to it again with my husband and then I will have my teens listen to it. I have been a Christian for most of my life and this book motivated me to look deeper into where my "sweet spot" is.

Each life is uniquely uncommon.

Narrator had great inflections that made listening a simple thing. I loved the principle taught--we all are equipped for a life purpose.

Christian Monologue

Has no substance and the "tools" are nothing more then references from the bible. This audio book is poorly labeled and categorized. It should be in the Religion & Spirituality section.
