Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling, award-winning author, actor, and motivational speaker Hill Harper invites listeners to join the conversation about the breakdown of the African-American family. The black community of past generations found strength in families, but today’s black children have less than a one in three chance of being raised in a two-parent household. Harper’s search for answers to this phenomenon is an enlightening and empowering journey.

~*AWESOME*~

Until this day I wanna know if Hill is still with the love he finds in the book. I took great notes that I will incorporate in my own life.

I had friends that actually had a dinner party about "The Conversation". A male/female married/single/divorced/engaged forum. It is awesome to listen to others perspectives on subjects that are a matter of the heart.

Great book excellent easy read.

Thought provoking subject matter...

Harper's words show a depth of character, a desire for personal growth and a willingness to analyze both the personal and larger landscape that is our relationships. I highly recommend this book if you are serious about building loving relationships that will empower us on a personal leve, and indeed, the larger African American community. Kudos to Hill Harper for his magnificent work, I'm a new fan.

great book and great insights about relationships

this is a great book. I was as moving and changed my views on relationships and my role in them as much as Men are from Mars, Women .... (John Gray) di when i first read it almost 20 years ago. It has very easy to follow stores and conversations to get the messages accross. What more can I say, listen to this book and it will change your relationship with your wife and friends.

Good nuggets but seems to be filled with fluff

Author comes off as if he's being dishonest or at least hiding his true feelings. Is was still an overall decent listen

HH THE GREAT !!!

THE REAL TRUTH

Who was your favorite character and why?

Idk. Probably Hill himself. He goes through changes and learn his faults. He also works on his faults like a real man!!

Which scene was your favorite?

When Hill is having a conversation with the elderly couples.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes. It showed me a lot that I feel is very informational. I did not cry but I was really in agreance with the whole book!!

Any additional comments?
