Publisher's summary
Our homes, offices, and live are more cluttered than ever before. A recent UCLA study revealed that American families are overwhelmed by their stuff. We are sold the idea that our things will save us time and money all while making our lives easier. But the truth is our stuff is suffocating our lives.
Clutter costs money. It devalues our home. It takes up valuable space - both physically and mentally. Clutter sucks our time and keeps us from doing the things we want to do. It's a distraction and a source of continual stress.
Big box office supply stores try to convince us that our problem is a lack of organization. We spend more money buying bins, labels, and dividers. The billion dollar self-storage industry is happy to take our money and store our stuff, costing us more than what our things are even worth.
Learn how to escape the clutter trap and organize your life for good! This guide will teach you how to:
- Recognize why we attract so much stuff in the first place
- Discover your personal reasons for holding on to things you don't need
- Take the first steps to letting go of the things you no longer use
- Organize the things that are important and worth holding on to
- Plus, the Clutter Free Action Plan will set you up for success with only a 15 minute a day commitment.
Just 15 minutes a day! You can SO do this.

Unf--k Your Habitat is for anyone who has been left behind by traditional aspirational systems - the ones that ignore single people with full-time jobs, people without kids but living with roommates, and people with mental illnesses or physical limitations. Story
Throw Out Fifty Things is truly an eye-opener. According to Blanke, our lives are so filled with junk from the past--from dried up tubes of crazy glue to old grudges--that's it's a wonder we can get up in the morning, never mind go to work, care for our children and parents, and just put one foot in front of the other. Blanke wants to start a movement of people across America throwing out 50 things (magazines count as one!) that will help liberate us from the stuff - both physical and mental - that clutters our lives.

I wish I hadn't wasted my money.
I found this book to be of very little practical use when it comes to the actual process of decluttering.
The author uses the word "etcetera" multiple times, uses cliches and statistics, often refers to her own amazing life/home/family, and basically gives very little (if any) real, useful, and/or new decluttering ideas. An example of one useless statement (to me) is: "Purging helps give you some breathing room. It really cleans up some space and makes it easier to deal with the things you want to keep." Really? I believe the average person who wants to clean out a drawer, a cabinet, or even a room, is already well aware of the benefits of purging. I bought this book hoping to learn something new about the process.
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
