Publisher's summary

Making sense of men's evolution... The stages of development describe the lifelong process by which a man's sense of self evolves. Predictable and unavoidable, these stages determine what men live for and what they can't live without. Understanding the differences between knights, princes, and kings is critical for success in romantic relationships, raising sons, and working effectively with men.

In this intimate conversation you'll learn:

  • What men can and cannot provide at each stage
  • How to avoid the tragic mistakes women make
  • What's really happening during a "mid-life crisis"
  • What makes a man "ready" for relationship, marriage, and children
  • The importance of adventure to men of all ages

Plus much more!

Why isn't this taught in every highschool?!

wow. I'm floored and excited to learn more. a few key points I loved learning
- men are single focused. That means when they are watching t.v they literally can NOT hear you
-men flick through all channels then say nothings on because nothing is WORTHY of their time
- we need to stop treating little boys like little girls by making them care about hygienic, being tidy and quiet
- when a boy becomes a knight he is SUPPOSED to be with his friends and learn loyalty and go on adventurers
- "behave" means everything to a woman, and nothing to a man-except surpress yourself

The Work of a Genius

No one knows men or women better than Alison Armstrong. She knows men better than most men know themselves. While women obviously have an interest in listening to this, so should every man. To quote Montaigne, "The greatest thing in the world is to know how to belong to oneself."

Total Appreciation For This Heartfelt Work

What did you love best about The Amazing Development of Men, Expanded 2nd Edition: Every Man's Journey from Knight to Prince to King?

Exceptional information for women who are really ready to understand and men who would benefit from some validation and who're interested in being understood. When I called for a solution, this book provided usable, valuable, practical, inspiring and TRANSFORMING answers for my relationship with myself AND with the men in my life. In a state of total appreciation for the heartfelt work of this author.

What other book might you compare The Amazing Development of Men, Expanded 2nd Edition: Every Man's Journey from Knight to Prince to King to and why?

"The Queens Code"

Any additional comments?

I read "The Queens Code" and had the most "lightbulb" moments of any self development work I've done to date. I wanted more and this delivered it easily, simply, understandably and transformationally yet again. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Please no more devil/Gollum high pitch imitation voices of women

It really detracts from Alison the way she imitates the women voices. It’s scary how she switches from this sweet sounding lady to this scary mean condescending tone. It’s almost like she has this contempt for women who are that way. It would help if she wouldn’t patronise or use almost bordering on a rude and disrespectful manner in which she try’s to get her point across. Like chastising. It does take away from her material and herself as an educator. Like some of the other reviews that pick up on this, I agree, as an educator, there is a position of authority and a lot of responsibility held for the many people and students of theirs. Let’s try to teach without breeding contempt but try to embrace understanding and kindness. Otherwise we’re trying to change behaviour through the motivation of fear rather than love and understanding. The reason being using fear breeds contempt and a lack of understanding and empathy for those who haven’t had the time yet to learn a better way. Kindness and encouragement is so much more helpful than condescending and contemptuous tones. Everyone is doing the best with what they have. How can they know better if they don’t know that another way to do it exists? They haven’t been able to educate themselves on this material yet. It just hurts to hear this and how this could negatively impact women and bring on unnecessary suffering or impediments to people learning more effectively.

Very Insightful!

Definitely one of the best if not, it is the best in explaining why and how men act the way they are throughout their lifetime. It made me feel better about how I feel on my current relationship. Although, I believe that the only piece that is missing on this is what to do as a woman while a man is in a certain stage of development. The author somewhat discussed it but I still felt unsatisfied with the suggestion. I felt that the recommendation were too vague for my need. Overall, I was happy with it. I highly recommend this for people who just want to understand men but not necessarily to those who want more answer on how to deal with men.

Imperative for men to read!

...And of course women too. A very beautiful look inside of minds and hearts of men and women and the stories we tell ourselves about the opposite sex. Thank you Allison!

this was an amazing read. I think it's given me a lot more information about men than I ever knew or wanted to agree with. this is really good. Will listen to it again and again probably before I get married and while in marriage just as a reminder.
