Publisher's Summary

Making sense of men's evolution... The stages of development describe the lifelong process by which a man's sense of self evolves. Predictable and unavoidable, these stages determine what men live for and what they can't live without. Understanding the differences between knights, princes, and kings is critical for success in romantic relationships, raising sons, and working effectively with men.

In this intimate conversation you'll learn:

  • What men can and cannot provide at each stage
  • How to avoid the tragic mistakes women make
  • What's really happening during a "mid-life crisis"
  • What makes a man "ready" for relationship, marriage, and children
  • The importance of adventure to men of all ages

Plus much more!

"Why isn't this taught in every highschool?!"

wow. I'm floored and excited to learn more. a few key points I loved learning
    - men are single focused. That means when they are watching t.v they literally can NOT hear you
-men flick through all channels then say nothings on because nothing is WORTHY of their time
    - we need to stop treating little boys like little girls by making them care about hygienic, being tidy and quiet
    - when a boy becomes a knight he is SUPPOSED to be with his friends and learn loyalty and go on adventurers
    - "behave" means everything to a woman, and nothing to a man-except surpress yourself

    "The Work of a Genius"

No one knows men or women better than Alison Armstrong. She knows men better than most men know themselves. While women obviously have an interest in listening to this, so should every man. To quote Montaigne, "The greatest thing in the world is to know how to belong to oneself."

    "Very Insightful!"

Definitely one of the best if not, it is the best in explaining why and how men act the way they are throughout their lifetime. It made me feel better about how I feel on my current relationship. Although, I believe that the only piece that is missing on this is what to do as a woman while a man is in a certain stage of development. The author somewhat discussed it but I still felt unsatisfied with the suggestion. I felt that the recommendation were too vague for my need. Overall, I was happy with it. I highly recommend this for people who just want to understand men but not necessarily to those who want more answer on how to deal with men.

"Total Appreciation For This Heartfelt Work"
What did you love best about The Amazing Development of Men, Expanded 2nd Edition: Every Man's Journey from Knight to Prince to King?

Exceptional information for women who are really ready to understand and men who would benefit from some validation and who're interested in being understood. When I called for a solution, this book provided usable, valuable, practical, inspiring and TRANSFORMING answers for my relationship with myself AND with the men in my life. In a state of total appreciation for the heartfelt work of this author.

What other book might you compare The Amazing Development of Men, Expanded 2nd Edition: Every Man's Journey from Knight to Prince to King to and why?

    "The Queens Code"

    Any additional comments?

I read "The Queens Code" and had the most "lightbulb" moments of any self development work I've done to date. I wanted more and this delivered it easily, simply, understandably and transformationally yet again. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

    "Decent, but not for me"

While she has some insights which are useful, Alison's generalizations are not very accurate outside the "married babyboomer" demographic, and she caters to helping traditional marriages where the woman stays home and the man goes to work, based on the advice she gives to women on dealing with their children and their husband not having time for them because work.

If your a full time working woman, the only points in here that are practical and useful are summarized as: when asking questions, don't overwhelm, because it might take them time to respond; and take the other person at face value when they say things.

Which, tbh, is good advice for everyone at all ages. But worth a book it is not.

    "Great Information!"
Have you listened to any of Alison A. Armstrong’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have also listened to "Keys to the Kingdom" by Alison A. Armstrong. I think both performances were great! She has a very warm and cheerful voice!

What did you learn from The Amazing Development of Men, Expanded 2nd Edition: Every Man's Journey from Knight to Prince to King that you would use in your daily life?

I learned not to panic! This is a big one I think for all women. A lot of times when we feel as if our emotional needs aren't being met by our husbands or boyfriends, we tend to go into panic and fear mode, which only makes the problem worse. This audio helped me to understand and see clearly that these panicked feelings I may have sometimes are simply a response to my own fears, and that my husband usually is not trying to hurt me. This has helped me to change up my thought pattern, thereby changing my responses to what I, in the past, thought of as hurtful behavior by him, I now see as him simply being a man, who is ever changing and dedicated to his mission as knight, prince and king. Because of this shift in my thinking, I have created waaaaaay less anxiety for myself, and our relationship has become more peaceful.

    Any additional comments?

The one thing I found to be a little too flowery was Ms. Armstrong's description of midlife crisis, or "being in the tunnel." She described it as a wonderful transitory time for a man and that although its called midlife crisis, its not a crisis for the man going through it, but rather a crisis for every one else in his life, mainly the woman in his life. Although some of this is fundamentally true, I have found that there are many men who can navigate through this stage successfully, but there are many who cannot. And this creates a crisis not just for every one around them, but for themselves as well. Midlife crisis can either be a time of celebration (like Ms. Armstrong says), or it can be disastrous, for the man going through it and every one around him. Many families have fallen a part during this time, terrible, damaging affairs are common during this time, deep depression and financial ruin can also wreak havoc on one's life during this time. I would have liked to have heard Ms. Armstrong give a more balanced, accurate picture of just how damaging a full blown midlife crisis can potentially be for everyone, even for the man going through it, while still celebrating the need for midlife crisis to occur in a man's life.

    "Phenomenal"

I've been amazed by how well the author and research make sense of those areas where my husband, work partner and I (of 20+ years) just couldn't mesh. Makes so much sense now that we're evolving into a new stage of our relationship together. Looking forward to what the moment and future hold. Thank you for such an informative briefing.
