Publisher's Summary

Marie Kondo is a life changer who has devoted 80 percent of her life to the study of tidying as well as teaching it. Although people may be skeptical as to why a person would spend her life on such a subject, Kondo has developed a fool-proof method. The secret to success is to discard the things you don't need, then organize as you go. Now that may seem simple, but it is easier said than done, and this is what Kondo has come to realize through her own experiences. This is not just an audiobook about keeping your home clean.

Kondo not only provides you the path to a well-kept environment, but her method also allows you to change your lifestyle and your perspective for the better. She has deducted that when you put your house in order, you put your affairs and your past in order, too. It is a guide audiobook to help you acquire the right mindset to be a tidy person. According to Kondo, success is 90 percent dependent on mindset, and we all want to be successful.

Here is a preview of what you'll learn:
  • Why can't I keep my house in order?,
  • Finish discarding first,
  • Tidying by category works like magic,
  • Storing your things to make your life shine,
  • The magic of tidying dramatically transforms your life,
  • The book at a glance,

repeats the same thing over and over

poorly done. repeats the same message over and over, sometimes even the exact same sentence a few consecutive times. 10 minutes of useful information drearily restated.

Just OK

It was hard to understand the reader's accent. Some parts repeated, making the storyline a little unclear. The book, itself was a good summary of the real book. I think I would rather get the original audiobook instead.

Repeated Sentences

This audio was the only disappointment I've had with their products. The duplication of sentences was very annoying and it was a shorter amount of time than represented in the review. Maybe that is why there were repeats, to lengthen the time.

Monotonous robotic reading often repeats

Great option to reading the whole book. I just wanted to get the "gist" of it and a few tips! Narrator seemed emotionless - inflectionless, flat and just reading to get it done. Several times repeated sentences. Of course there is no story line anyway.....

Interesting but didn't like the narrator

I found the narrator difficult to listen to. I found her voice irritating and felt that had a negative impact on the book. The subject matter was quite interesting and time will tell if the techniques are successful.

Grateful

I was grateful to have this summary rather than read the whole book, mostly found it useful and full of common sense but took away a few details I'll consider further

Great book, very poor recording

This is a frustrating poor recording with repeated narration errors where the reader, at times, has three attempts at completing the sentence. Marie Kondo's message is sadly lost in the delivery.

Badly narrated (not edited)

I have this book and it's brilliant. I thought this would be a good way to refresh on the concepts, but the narrative has not been edited so every time the narrator makes a mistake she repeats herself (sometimes 4 times). She does have a nice soft tone it's just a little frustrating.

Repeats phrases every now and then

Good summary but appears to be poorly edited as the reader just repeats sentences if she makes what seems to be a mistake.
