Publisher's Summary

This is a book summary on Steal Like an Artist: 10 Things Nobody Told You About Being Creative by Austin Kleon.

You don't need to be a genius, you just need to be yourself. That's the message from Austin Kleon, a young author and artist who knows that creativity is everywhere, and creativity is for everyone. A manifesto for the digital age,Steal Like an Artist is a guide whose positive message, exercises, and examples put listeners directly in touch with their artistic side.

When Austin was asked to address college students in upstate New York, he shaped his speech around the 10 things he wished someone had told him when he was starting out. The talk went viral, and its author dug deeper into his own ideas to create Steal Like an Artist. The result is inspiring, hip, original, practical, and entertaining. And it's filled with new truths about creativity - that nothing is original. So embrace influence, collect ideas, and remix and re-imagine to discover your own path.

Critic Reviews

"Austin Kleon is positively one of the most interesting people on the Internet ... Kleon makes an articulate and compelling case for combinatorial creativity and the role of remix in the idea economy." ( The Atlantic)
"Breezy and fun, and yes, scary. Scary because it calls your bluff." (Seth Godin)

Short - as Unexpected

I actually bought this book summary by mistake.
Therefore, I am only disappointed about myself.
The performance is very good. I trust they summarize the key points, properly.
I thank the author for summarizing.

An amazing value and time saved!

This was awesome. I only listen to books because I don't have the quiet time available to sit with a good book. I was bummed when I saw the author didn't have an audio book available! I wanted to read this book so bad but knew I would likely never read the book. So glad this audible summary was available!! I was able to read and understand the big ideas in the book within the time its takes me to get ready. I will be buying more FlashBook Book Summaries!

Great Jolt of Motivation

I really enjoyed listening to this! I shared it with a few of my musician friends. Great for getting you motivated to continue to be creative and finish the work you start.

Save a few minutes and a few bucks

This book could have been written as a blog post and I still would have felt like it was a waste of time to read. I don't know why it has so many good reviews. Maybe all friends of the author. Who knows? Save a few bucks and don't waste your time on this book.
