Publisher's summary

With all of the must-do activities in your life today, how can you fit in the activities you want to do? Better yet, what about activities you need to do?

Implementing these new behaviors requires change, and let's face it, change is hard! It's a lot easier to quit or, at best, give a half-hearted effort. The problem with taking the easy route is that you don't feel you've accomplished anything, and you rarely see lasting results.

In this practical, actionable book, Scotty Studer shows you how to implement the important-but-not-urgent habits in your life by making small changes. These changes will not require a drastic alteration in your "routine" or require a lot of time to do, but they will provide consistent results!

By using personal life stories and examples from others, he gives you specific habits to implement that are effective and easy to do!

You will learn how to have:

  • An actionable plan to create financial stability
  • A closer, personal relationship with God
  • Friends complimenting you on how thin and fit you look
  • Relationships with your kids growing deeper and more meaningful than ever before

Don't take the easy, half-hearted route to implement proactive habits. Instead, learn how to achieve lasting results by taking small, intentional actions every day in four important areas of your life: faith, relationships, health, and finances!

Worth a listen

Scotty Studer put together a list of things to help an individual make positive changes in their lives. From information and ideas to help health, spiritual and physical, to finances. What may seem to be common sense ideas to some, Scotty breaks it down to give the everyday person ideas to help make things a little easier. I will definitely be listening through again just to pick up on things I may have missed the first time.

SMALL steps LARGE impact! Well written!

Would you consider the audio edition of Small Changes, Big Results to be better than the print version?

I have never read the print version. This was my first encounter of this marvelous book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Small Changes, Big Results?

All the moments that confirmed that I am on the right track with some things I am doing and the moments that so very succinctly detailed SIMPLE shifts I can make (not a lot of time nor effort) to improve my life day to day. I love the level of specificity and explanation of "value" of each change. Some changes I could make in the very midst of reading. The consistent iteration of "try this for seven days" made feel like I could do it (commit) without the pressure of worrying about how I would be able to keep it up. In another book I recently read, I discovered that commitment to ridiculously small changes encourage inspiration of larger changes as they become habits.

What does Joseph Brookhouse bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrator had a positive tone and gave me the impression that we were having "conversation" of sorts. It was like having a session with a life coach.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely! I purposely listened in segments so that I could absorb the information, decide what (if any) of the changes I wanted to employ before going on the next section. It provided a great walking companion.

Some great tidbits of life information for living a truly Christian life.

This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of AudiobookBoom dot com.

When listening to this book the first prompt was to stop listening and download the resource PDF from the author's web site. By doing so I was apparently given no choice but to opt into his email list which was a turn-off. There is a big difference between downloading a PDF and agreeing to be part of an email list.

However what followed was good! There is a lot of information to digest. For best results I recommend reading and acting on a chapter a week. The Authors topics range from eating healthy to building a closer relationship with God and your family. While some I had heard before several were unique nuggets of wisdom.

I also really liked the well-chosen quotes the author used throughout the book. Overall it was a good listen. I will be implementing some of his best practices. :)

Good book for a young or new family

Overall I enjoyed this listen and I found many of the steps useful and practical. The book is written with a family perspective, so it gives advice on building relationships with your spouse and children. I am currently single, but once I start a family I will definitely apply some of the steps to my family.

I wanted to give this audio 4 stars, but had to give it 3. The narration was very nice and smooth, and I enjoyed the overall flow of the book. I can appreciate the authors faith as I am a faithful person myself, but at one point the audio got a little too religious for my taste. Once I got past those parts I could focus more on the actual steps and on how to better implement them. Overall a good listen.

Nothing New

There really wasn't anything in this book that I didn't already know. I guess it was a nice little refresh and easy to listen to, but I was disappointed with the lack of new information.

Was too bogged down with Christian dogma for me to be interested

I am always looking for good self help and improvement books. I had high hopes for this one, however it began by talking about faith and Christianity. A half hour into the audiobook he was still going on about his faith, Reading the Bible and how you should listen to Christian radio. I'm pretty put off, that is not why I downloaded this book.

The narrator was very good and pleasant to listen to.
