Want to mediate for 20 mins a day?

I have been mediating for 2 months now and I was looking for some more guided meditations. I found it! Dr. Amen has a wisdom to his voice and the journey he takes you on to meditate, is one of lovely flower, pretty parks and healing waters. There is no music in the background and there is no religious suggestions. It's just the doc and the images he wants you to create to increase blood flow to your brain. I highly recommend this to people who do not know where to begin with stress reduction and think that regular meditation is weird.

First.... thank you to audible for not ending this with "this is audible we hope you have enjoyed...."
second....this is so good i decided to get his book here on audible...i hope it's as good:)
Third....I absolutely love that Dr. Amen doesn't play back ground noise because I like creating my own.
Fourth....i like that the tone of Dr. Amen is clear, consistent, calm to the point and none of this emotionalism in his voice. I get tired of people and their voices changing to try to get you to where they want you instead of letting you get their through your own voice with the help of theirs.

The only complaint i might have is that there isn't more of these types of relaxation/meditation programs from Dr. Amen and others like this on/in audible.

A guided mediation exercise

Dr Amen is known for his work on evaluating the brain via neurology and psychiatry.
I wasn't sure what this book would be but picked it up since I was familiar with the author and he is the narrator.
It is a brief two chapter book.
The first chapter explains what the second chapter is going to be.
The second chapter is a guided relaxation exercise.
I listen to this when hitting the bed at night as it helps me to fall asleep more quickly.
Do not listen while driving or working!

Relaxing

Truly healing!

Dr Amen's meditation is a key part of my recovery from chronic fatigue. It's so easy to get into and he is utterly pleasant. My wife does joins me now and our marriage benefits. I've even gone through it parked in the car. It gives your brain such a healthy reset! thank you dr. amen!

Listening Daily has made a Difference in my Life

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely!. I have had problems with insomnia and I listen to this when I would like to go to sleep. It relaxes me and even if I do fall asleep, I know that the information is getting into my subconscious. I have noticed that I have been more productive, had more energy and felt better overall since listening to Dr. Amen's 30 min program every night for the last few weeks.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Dr. Amen's voice is very soothing. I like emphasis on living our life "now" and being in the present moment is where we should live, versus dwelling in the past. As he says....there absolutely nothing we can do to change the past, so dwelling on it is a waste of time!!

Any additional comments?

Now I almost automatically use the relaxation technique of breathing to calm myself in stressful situations. I do feel more energetic and focused after listening to this program. I don't know if it will work for everyone, but it certainly has worked for me.

I find this incredibly relaxing

If I want to relax and drift I put this on. I've actually fallen asleep to it multiple times, and I'm not the type who just falls asleep easily.

Exactly what I've been looking for!

I absolutely love this, it is exactly what I've been looking for. The narrator's voice is so soothing to listen to. I was able to fall into a very relaxed sate, easily, and that is difficult for me with the type of anxiety that I have. I recommend this to anyone and everyone!
