Critic reviews

"Raymond Todd's reading is a big reason the audio will appeal to men at all levels of spirituality. He's a humble narrator who is both confident in the author's teachings and respectful of his audience. Makes some great points

I like the language of military and sports. Something I can relate to and makes it easier to understand. I learned a great deal about myself reading this book. I would recommend it especially for a younger gentleman.

Useful but tone death

You can tell that this book was written decades ago. The basic principles of this book are rock solid, but the author is often tone deaf. Emphasis on conviction often comes off as condemnation, with an overwhelming assumption about the women in the lives of these men reading the book as doing it, right, wholesome, undisciplined, weak men. Conviction and correction without empathy and validation may inspire for a moment, but will fizzle out once Shane and difficult emotions like depression show up. For men to be better they also need to be loved, and understood how the influence of the broken heart that often contributes to selfish or fearful behavior can be healed.

Must read for any man.

Straight talk about not just WHAT a man should do, but HOW to do it. Like having a grandfather tell you exactly what you need to know.
