Publisher's Summary

These mistakes will blow your mind! Everybody makes at least one of these; most parents make more. I've even seen parents make almost all of these mistakes.

This book is not to frown upon all the trying and loving parents who aren't perfect. It is here to help you see what you can improve on to make your kid's life even better than it already is. Learn from others so you don't have to go through the same process. Most importantly, however, learn from others how not to do it so you can avoid those traps yourself.

Don't wait to become an even better parent by learning from these bad examples!

A Great Resource

This book is rich and thought-provoking. It really stirred and challenged me to think differently about the art of parenting. There are great questions throughout the book that have invited rich discussion with my husband about our own kids and with friends about the journey of parenting. This book brought up so many great points on parenting the way God views this role.you can avoid those traps yourself. I recommend all parents listen this to help their family.

Revealing and Insightful

No one likes their weaknesses and mistakes to be pointed out, but in the area of parenting I say to bring it on. This is one area we do not want to fail. This book provides areas in our parenting to consider room for improvement, and there is always room for improvement. The stories, quotes, statistics, and general good counsel helped me ponder my own parenting and was very revealing and insightful as to the reality of the the challenges and temptations that our children face today He has a way of teaching difficult things that makes you, as a parent, want to change and become a better parent.

Any additional comments?

I have read many parenting books over the years but this one is by far the most practical, insightful, and encouraging of them all. As someone in education, I wish every parent of every student I have would listen and apply the principles set Rita Chester book!

AWESOME BOOK

A must read! This book was a needed eye opener for me. It is easy to get lost in our kid-centric world today, doing our best to protect our children and keep them happy. This book focuses on how we can still do that, while also preparing them to be independent, mindful adults. Fantastic!!

Very practical

My favorite part was when the author made everything simple and made things so clear and concise to make this a very good audiobook.
All the given advice is easy to follow and use in every day life. Some parts where explained repeatedly and in some parts too many times.

Very good points made but not much new information.

Four Stars!!!!

I read a lot of books, but very few of them get a “must read” designation from me. For parents and teachers, 20 Mistakes Parents Can Avoid by Rita Chester fully earns my must-read label.

The explanation was neat and clear and really liked the VOICE!!!
The best advice I find in this book that is pretty relevant is Inconsistency

Excellent book on parenting.

Yes

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

The joy of being a parent is immeasurable but dealing with the stress that parenthood brings can sometimes become too much that leads to parenting mistakes that this book has brilliantly discussed.

Any additional comments?

This book states that consistency is one of the most important keys to raising a psychologically healthy child, to which I absolutely agree. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED book

AMAZING BOOK

If you are a new or even a veteran parent, this book is a fabulous guide in what is and is not important as a parent! You won't be able to put it down! Has some great take-away. could probably be half as long. gets repetitive and a bit self-promoting, but the messages are excellent and have really pushed us to change some things we do.

Parenting help!

I was very impressed with the points asserted and honestly agreed with every one of them. I could see my own faults in there and areas I needed to change, improve, and (most especially) step back from to let my daughter develop, learn to adapt and thrive, and face hardships as well as the best times so she is prepared for all circumstances as an adult.

Parents and teachers, go get this book!
