Publisher's summary

In this engaging conversation, Samuel Avery explores the compelling ideas in his new audiobook The Buddha and the Quantum. He takes us on a brief journey through the 100 year history of quantum physics and the 3,000 year history of Buddhist meditation to show us that the discoveries of the Buddha and physicist Max Planck were one and the same.

Avery explains how our experience of the physical world is built not from objective reality, but from our experience within. His brilliant model of consciousness makes difficult and subtle ideas easy to understand, and his enlightening perspective brings listeners to a new vista from which to consider reality.

This audio program concludes with Avery taking the listener on an illuminating 22 minute guided meditation for a first-hand experience of this cutting-edge perspective.

Above me but interesting

That meditation at the end. I think it must be packed with some quantum power. Something happened to me

I really wish this was a full length book

You’ll fly through this little book in a hurry so just know the last part is a meditation where you really need to be able to sit down and close your eyes. You’ll understand this book more if you have an interest in relativity and anything quantum mechanics. And when I say an interest I just mean an interest- not a degree! He also made me feel really good about my lack of “being able to do meditation “. He talks about how the second you try to do meditation you are affectively not doing it, And how that irony is similar to observation at the subatomic level where are you change something by observing it. This little book really linked some major concepts for me.
