Publisher's Summary

Dr. Rober A. Glover has a Ph.D in marriage and family therapy and is co-director of the Center for Healing and Recovery in Washington state.

In No More Mr. Nice Guy!, he presents a guide to creating a healthy and satisfying life. Dr. Glover believes there are men who suffer what he calls the "Nice Guy Syndrome". These men listen, offer advice, and jump at the chance to help. But no matter how hard they try to please others, their own lives are incomplete.

Here Dr. Glover offers guidance on how to take back control. He suggests ways to achieve fulfillment in emotional, physical, and professional relationships. By redefining his priorities, any man can create the life he always wanted.

    "Brilliant. "

Fantastic book. Basically a manual to change your life in profound ways. I looked a the title for the wrong reasons, but found the book to be right on the money. The change has begun.

"Life changing and hard to face at times."

This is a book I didn't want to read and I actually owned it for 3 months before I gave it a listen. Afraid it may reveal something to myself I wouldn't want to here I assume. I am a self proclaimed nice guy and I don't entirely intend to change that but what this book did for me and will do for most guys is to help you properly calibrate your generosity or niceness so that you don't become a drive-thru for energy/time/money vampires. Being that I have lived in a major metropolitan city up north; 8 cold years of this rough city and its "TAKERS" mentality eroded much of my "nice guy attributes" (or vulnerabilities). This book helped patch up a considerable amount of holes that have plagued my life to this very day. I certainly plan to revisit this book once a quarter until I feel I've internalized most of concepts. A true Game changer

"The book every "Nice Guy" needs"

I think this is a great book for any "Nice guy". I learned a lot from this book and plan on incorporating these changes in my life. Also to note not being a "nice guy" doesn't mean you are a jerk. It's really about empowerment and finding your masculine strengths and abilities to get everything you want and deserve in life. Stop settling, stop being weak, stop blaming everyone else for your life. Get this book listen to it and grow. Life can be what you want it to be.

"If you need this book, you NEED THIS BOOK! "

This is not your typical self help book. This is a deep dive into the roots of a particular type of disfunction. If you're a "nice guy" this is what you need. This book is true like a punch in the stomach and while just reading it was like therapy in its self, the exercises are the power. I expected a version of "Hey, you deserve better! Stand up for yourself!". Instead I got a version of "you are a wounded and dysfunctional person and this is how you fix it". The first statement was what I wanted to hear. The second was what I Needed (really needed) to hear. This isn't going to make you feel good about yourself. But, it's going to reveal some things you need to face and probably once you see them you'll be unable to tolerate them. This is the genesis of all change, isn't it? Get The Book if you want to change. Seriously.

    "solid"

this is much better than I thought it would be. The author hits a rich vein and balances a sometimes shaky pop psychology tone with what seems to be a real understanding of the roots and struggles of the"nice guy." I intend to re-read this to better absorb it
