Publisher's summary

"We rarely remember the precious months or years when we experienced our worthiness as a fact. A given. Something as present, real, and natural as breathing and playing and animal crackers." (Dr. Kelly Flanagan)

It's time to remember.

Dr. Kelly Flanagan is known to millions for the letters he writes to his children and shares on his blog. Loveable is written to the little one in each of us, who is all too ready to be reminded: You are enough, you are not alone, and you matter.

In Loveable, Dr. Flanagan reveals the core insight gleaned from his years of clinical work - you are here for a reason, yet you cannot truly awaken to it until you have first embraced your truest, worthiest self and then allow yourself to be truly embraced by others. Weaving heartwarming storytelling, gentle insights, and the wisdom of Dr. Flanagan's Christian tradition - including his belief that we are all "the living, breathing bearers of the eternal, transcendent, and limitless love that spun the planets and hung the stars" - this book invites you to remember the name you were given before all other names: loveable.

Eye Opening

My favorite moment was about our EGO and how we all have it but must learn to manage it.

Very good overall

Very good book overall, definitely helped me change my thinking about the shame we all carry around and even helped me recognize the ways I shame others inadvertently. The letters and stories we're great. Just maybe a little too many metaphors which made it somewhat slow for me.

Such an amazing story

This book was suggested to me by my counselor. This was the first book that I finished (Audible and long drives to and from work help) in a long time. It was inspiring and didn’t feel like a laundry list of “things to do until I feel better”.

I love this book.

Rediscover YOU!

This book is absolutely AMAZING!! I downloaded the audible edition and I'm so glad I did as I can listen to it while I'm driving or home doing dishes. I have read many many books on behavior and why people do what they do. Why do I do what I do? How can I become the best version of myself? How can I best help other people and boost their self esteem and confidence? Why are people mean and why do our children have to endure such ridicule for just being themselves? How to navigate them thru a swamp of opinions that will mold, shape and influence them regardless of their upbringing or beliefs. How to help children who don't have the influence at home to develop life skills to navigate the swamp and they get stuck in it. This book has a beautiful means of taking you on a journey of self discovery and renewing you into the person you were always meant to be. The person who may be burried deep beneath rubbish our society has placed upon you. The person you actually forgot you were before you were influenced to become somebody you're not. Loveable brings you back to you with peace in your heart and a flame in your soul to be brighter than you've ever been.

I’ve listened to this one multiple times

This book is very well written with some incredibly true points. One example is when he is talking about the opinions of others and he describes the looks ladies get when another lady walks in he added, “but they’re not judging her. They’re judging themselves relative to her.”
