No matter what you think you are never alone

Chester pens a perfectly helpful piece that should help anyone who is disconnected or feels unplugged from others. I am a funeral Director, and I read books like this to help me help others cope with loss. One of the most overwhelming thing that I hear from the family survivors is that they are lonely, and cannot seem to get over it. Even having people who care about them nearby doesn't seem to help. I think that Rita Chester has written an excellent piece that should help whomever reads it learn to move back into the world an reconnect. I will certainly share her ideas with my families when I see they need a hand to get through their period of lonliness.

I must say that I like the cover, with one simple picture it depicts the solitary individual, whereas the color in the background, along with the birds indicates that there is hope. Excellent choice.

Gilbert's narration is soothing and helps one connect to the message that she is providing. You can feel her empathy, and her trust in the material comes through clearly. I wish more narrators had this kind of style. She was an excellent choice to read this book.

If you are lonely, get this book, and see that there is no reason to feel that way anymore.

5 out of 5 great grab!!

The good news is that you don't have to just sit there and put up with those negative feelings. Instead, you can apply the step-by-step approach found in this book to deal with this problem right away. There are piles of tricks found in this book that open up a whole new world for most people. Even if only a few tricks work, it will be worth the little money this book costs.

I actually enjoyed this book!!!

I actually enjoyed this book quite a bit. Sometimes it is really nice to listen something that is so positive. It is easy to get down, especially if you have gone through a breakup or lost a person you are close to. A little bit of inspiration can really go a long way. Maybe this book is not everyone's cup of tea, but for me it was exactly what I needed.

Nothing new

I was expecting more on the psychology of loneliness. My mother could've suggested these things.

Mostly obvious plus advertising

Narration was clear but somewhat wooden. Content was obvious and poorly written. Much of the content was framed by attempts to lure the reader into buying more of the author's books. Don't bother.

Common Sense

Would you try another book from Rita Chester and/or Valerie Gilbert?

No.

What was most disappointing about Rita Chester’s story?

This book contained only completely common sense. I could have written it in an hour with no research or anything.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Her pace was painful. I recommend playing this at 1.5 x normal speed unless you're trying to fall asleep.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

If a person is so emotionally defunct that he can't think straight, this book would state the perfectly obvious for him.

Any additional comments?

Treat yourself to a coffee instead of to this book.

I don't think the narrator could sound less like they cared if they tried

If you are lonely this book will not help you as there is no compassion at all
