Publisher's summary

In her phenomenal New York Times best seller The Other Side and Back, acclaimed psychic Sylvia Browne introduced millions of people to a world beyond our own, where they saw for the first time that death was not the end but just another phase in our eternal journey.

Now, with Life on the Other Side, she goes even further, attending to our most pressing questions and quelling our deepest fears about death. Like a "psychic travel agent", Sylvia answers our five basic questions: "How do I get there?"; "What does it look like?"; "What are the 'local' like?"; "What is there to do?"; and "How exactly do I get back?"

She also looks over her lifelong career as a psychic, using past experiences to illustrate her findings about "the other side". And now, for the very first time, we're led on an adventure of the spirit to see an unprecedented view of a peaceful place where our departed loved ones, and the next leg of our exciting journey, are patiently awaiting us.

Quite remarkable and absolutely believable

Regardless of your personal beliefs of the afterlife, Sylvia gives us a very comforting sneak peek into what lies beyond the grave. She in no way tries to convince, she just speaks plainly and with authority of what she knows to be true. Like it or leave it, like it or not.

When I purchased this audiobook, I forced myself to listen to it with an open mind, expecting it to be more mystical than practical. What truly surprised and delighted me was the conversational style and matter-of-factness Sylvia employs with her teaching. I'm not sure that every single word hit me like a eureka moment, but she backs up her work with Biblical and many other manner of religious references. So this book is less about supernatural hocus pocus and more about the continuum of life... which is pretty comforting and reassuring.

Ahhh Sylvia

No one else could have narrated this book. Perfect. I did give it a 3 star review though. Only because it felt like I was getting a repeat performance. I had already read the same stuff in her previous books. That was a bit disappointing.

.

Where does Life on the Other Side rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This was a easy, entertaining read. I liked this book and would recommend it.

What did you like best about this story?

Her descriptions of Heaven and what we can expect

What does Sylvia Browne bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She is a very good story teller, like sitting and listening to a friend.

Any additional comments?

I wish she would have gone into more detail about certain parts of Heaven....maybe I would enjoy hearing more?

So so...

First of all, I found the hoarse voice of the speaker rather unpleasant and annoying... Second, I have some psychic abilities, too. In this book, it was not easy to understand which things she personally felt and experienced and what she only read, as I get an impression that she did copy much from other people. For example, mandala and OM. If you have never read about it, no way it will come to you. Or marble buildings. I never feel/see such things, even though I do feel and see A LOT. I guess, younger and more physical, materialistic souls can see such things, as they are still attached to the earth and all that they left behind. More advanced souls go to higher worlds. I didn't like her calling angels other species. When you don't need to incarnate again, you do ascend to higher dimentions. Suicides. I didn't like that either. She's so judgemental. About beautiful people, too. My cousin killed himself when he was 22. Now he is my son. He's very smart boy. Many years passed since his death and he spent that time guiding other souls. But he got bored. Anyways, she has some dark energy in her eyes, which I don't like. I guess it could be related to her anger (the way she spoke to the spirits) and judgement. Suicide is like Armani. Labeling people. I'll write a couple of books on this leter. It all depends on the intensions of a person and the level of their spiritual development. Did she study theology? It would make sense. So one suicide may need to come back and pay like karma - continue learning the lessons they didn't learn in the past life. For example, a man drinks alcohol, doesn't take care of his son, who dies, and then he understands what he did and kills himself. In the next life, he is a woman, who cannot have kids and dies of cancer. The whole story is, of course, much longer and more complex than this. Others, like my cousin, come back and help others, as he was already a good person. He just needed to be more determined. Not to allow others to exploit him and push him around. So he chose me and my husband as parents and he will achieve a lot and no one will stop him this time. So I don't like she's so judgemental. I feel like judgment often comes from superficial understanding. According to my friend, she has yellow aura with some green. Such people still use mind a lot and it could mix up with intuition. So I guess all books on spirituality and afterlife are a reflection of our own soul and spiritual maturity. And indeed, the afterlife IS our soul. Like our soul becomes the space. It becomes all. For some people, it's full of buildings and people. For others, it's empty. For others, no form, just loving entities. Or mental dimensions. Yes, guys, we are going home and our home is within... How cool.

The details and experiences

The amount of details and experiences painted a real picture of the splendor of God’s love and comfort. There is a real value to life’s lessons and the love of our dear ones and guides.
