Often irreverent - and always hilarious - keynote speaker and lecturer Loretta LaRoche helps people discover how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors can affect work performance, relationships, success, and self-worth. An international consultant and lecturer in the field of stress management, she is widely known for her six award-winning specials on PBS, including The Joy of Stress, Humor Your Stress, How Serious is This, and Get a Life.
Perhaps my expectations were wrong, but this recorded show was a little disappointing. Although the anecdotes might make you chuckle and a few of the comments were little gems, the content never moves deeper than that. The message I got was "if you're stressed, wear a funny suit and laugh" or, "hey it could be worse!". I think this is worth getting if you want a light-hearted listen that will make you smile, or if you are hoping to pick up a few ideas to get your head out the well and see daylight again. But if you need some real tools in dealing with stress then this is not it and the "get over it" bits might frustrate those who feel they just can't pick up their mood.
