Be inspired by the book behind the graduation speech by Dr. Rick Rigsby's– now with 100+ million views on Facebook and YouTube.

After his wife died, Rick Rigsby was ready to give up. The bare minimum was good enough. Rigsby was content to go through the motions, living out his life as a shell of himself. But then he remembered the lessons his father taught him years before - something insanely simple, yet incredibly profound.

These lessons weren't in advanced mathematics or the secrets of the stock market. They were quite straightforward, in fact, for Rigsby's father never made it through third grade. But if this uneducated man's instructions were powerful enough to produce a Ph.D. and a judge – imagine what they can do for you.

Join Rigsby as he dusts off time-tested beliefs and finds brilliantly simple answers to modern society's questions. In a magnificent testament to the "Greatest Generation" which gave so much and asked so little in return, Lessons from a Third Grade Dropout will challenge you while reigniting your passion to lead a truly fulfilling life.

After all, it's never too late to learn a little bit more about life – just ask the third-grade dropout.

A Mans, Man

Fathers not only teach us, but the make us men in the process. I thank God for your father as the things he taught you, my father also taught. We all need a reminder ever so often. God Bless!

excellent

This is the first audible book I listened to in it entirety without a break. I first heard Dr.Rigsby speaking to college grads on FB. His father was amazing. I will incorporate his mentality into my life and share it with my son.

Inspirational message turns into a harsh lecture

I struggled to finish. I marked a few bookmarks however, the entire book is a eulogy to the author's father who seems to have been a man of strong character however, the book is written as though it is a parent lecture on how the current generations, after the Golden generation, lacks courtesy and strong character. The author sums it up in Chapter 6 when says "This generation is going to the dogs." He spoke very quickly as he had a lot to point out and while there are some inspirational stories, the overall theme is the undying love and respect the author has for his father which isn't so bad if you don't mind hearing it over and over for 3 hours. Bottom line is the book is written to point out the character flaws of today and the character strengths of yesteryear with some inspiration sprinkled in.

Great story

Great story and great life lessons. The only way to experience this book is by listening. With the author’s narration it’s unbelievable. I’ve had the privilege of hearing him speak in person and the book made me feel like I was right back in the crowd.

A message stretch out

Although I like the messages delivered in this audiobook, I could have been told in half the time. The author goes on and on before getting to the next advise. I did put in 4 stars in performance, but that is not for a good delivery of the message, but that his voice is pleasant to listen to. I do not recommend this book. Too little take away, and although the audio is on the short side, it should have been a lot shorter.

Time to reflect and learn

Reflection that our generation has to make and learn from the previous generation.

We have forgotten the allegiance with discipline and have instead embraced convenience.
