Among our greatest fears is the dread of what others would think of us "if they only knew" - the parts of our past we hope to forget, the parts of our present we work to conceal. Yet the part we actually do the best job of hiding is not the unsightly debris of our own mess, but rather the stunning beauty of God's grace. The fear that demands we protect this false image at all costs leads us to unwittingly declare a false gospel at every turn. Jamie Ivey finally grew tired of doing that, tired of being too ashamed and insecure to let others see the full extent of what God was capable of doing with our unworthiness. So she quit hiding.
What do you do when you wake up and feel like you're not enough for your life? Or when you look out the kitchen window as dusk falls and wonder how do you live when life keeps breaking your heart? As Ann Voskamp writes, "great grief isn't meant to fit inside your body. It's why your heart breaks." And each of us holds enough brokenness to overflow - to be given as the greatest story of our lives. In 60 vulnerably soulful stories, The Way of Abundance moves from self-weary brokenness to Christ-focused givenness.
Grace is always good news. But it's not cheap - true grace compels us to change. That’s where holiness comes in. Beloved writer, speaker, and best-selling coauthor of Wild and Free Jess Connolly will be the first to admit that not long ago, like many women, she grasped grace but she had forgotten holiness. Dance, Stand, Run charts her discovery that holiness was never meant to be a shaming reminder of what we “should” be doing but rather a profound privilege of becoming more like Christ.
Is my ordinary, everyday life actually significant? Is it okay to be fulfilled by the simple acts of raising kids, working in an office, and cooking chicken for dinner? It's been said "life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the number of moments that take our breath away". The pressure of that can be staggering as we spend our days looking for that big thing that promises to take our breath away. Meanwhile, we lose sight of the small significance of fully living with every breath we take.
How do you turn your struggles into strengths? Beloved Bible teacher Sheila Walsh teaches listeners how the daily spiritual practices of confession, meditation on God's Word, and prayer result in fresh freedom in Christ. In her long-awaited new book, Sheila Walsh equips women with a practical method for connecting with God's strength in the midst of struggle. From daily frustrations that can feel like overwhelming obstacles to hard challenges that turn into rock-bottom crises, women will find the means to equip themselves for standing strong with God.

Jen Hatmaker believes backbone is the birthright of every woman. Women have been demonstrating resiliency and resolve since forever. They have incredibly strong shoulders to bear loss, hope, grief, and vision. But somehow women have gotten the message that pain and failure mean they must be doing things wrong, that they messed up the rules or tricks for a seamless life.
Let's be honest: the life you're leading isn't the one you've always dreamt of. And maybe the person you've become isn't who you imagined you'd be. Sure, you can work longer, love harder, and eat better. You can scrub the surface of your life until it gleams. But that won't address the fact that you've somehow lost sight of who you really are. Working from the core message of Ephesians 1:11, Jo Saxton implores women to reject mistaken identities. Relying on personal stories from her own life, she identifies key scenarios where identities develop that are not true to God's vision, demonstrating the importance of knowing one's name, embracing the gifts you've been given, confronting body issues, managing seasons of depression and grief, and letting go of perfectionism.
Are you consumed with a busy life but unsure how to slow down? Do you desire connection within your community and think, Absolutely, but I don't have time for that or I can't create that? What if there was another way through it all, a way to find those moments of peace and to create a time for honest, comfortable connection? What if meeting neighbors and connecting with friends was as simple as showing up and being available?
Anxiety is at an all time high, but there's a prescription for dealing with it. Max Lucado invites listeners into a study of Philippians 4:6-7, where the Apostle Paul admonishes the followers of Christ, "Do not be anxious about anything...." Philippians 4:6 encourages the believer to "be anxious for nothing". As Lucado states, the Apostle Paul seems to leave little leeway here. "Be anxious of nothing. Nada. Zilch. Zero."
I don't know about you, but I'm pretty tired of the struggle. You know which one I mean - fear, loneliness, not knowing who I am or what I’m meant to do.... Sound familiar? I struggled with insecurity, comparison, and isolation for too many years, from thigh gaps to eyebrows to the lifestyles I felt I had to live up to. I was so afraid of being "found out", that everyone in my life would somehow figure out that I was fearful and small and that I struggled to make my faith a reality and to be secure in who I am.
If there is one thing Lincee Ray has learned over the years, it's that the majority of women on the planet struggle with insecurities. Our skinny jeans mock us. Our just-trying-to-help mothers are just driving us crazy. Our social media feeds taunt us with everyone else's picture-perfect lives. It's enough to send you on a gummy-bear bender while binge-watching Friends reruns and not showering for a week. Lincee knows. She's been there. Right there, in fact. Gummy bears and all.
Some days you faultlessly juggle everything that is your life - kids, husband, house, job, church, friendships, school, pets, appointments, and on and on. Other days the very thought of which ball you're going to drop puts your anxiety level through the roof. You're afraid you're forgetting something. And you are: God's advice to fear not. Alli Worthington knows all about the ways a woman can be hard on herself. She shares her own fear struggles with humor and honesty - while offering real strategies for coping with life's big worries as well as little everyday worries.

Great book for any age!
This book is simple in message and my heart needed to hear it. Thank you, Candace. You made me laugh and cry. I felt like I was hearing encouragement from a dear friend. My heart has been heavy, and your call to see Joy standing there with me is hard to hear and yet so comforting.
Thank you Candace for your so raw and very real words. This book was inspiring. It pushes you to not allow the circumstances of life to steal, kill or destroy the Joy that the Lord has put in your heart.
We all need to look at this world with this child like wonder and embrace this infectious joy that Candace oozes.
Candace, what fun it was to hear your book. I sure hope you have kept in touch with Mr. Anthony since your trip. Your family was a big part of his healing and I am sure you would continue to be a blessing to him.
Continue spreading your joy to all those you come in contact with - you have a gift to share!
I rarely read books twice. However this is a book that I would read over and over again. Candice is an amazing writer who helps you to visualize what Joy looks like in everyday life. I don't think we can get enough. I love her story and how she shows how the Lord has guided her steps.
