I like that the book gives good, quality advice on ways to improve daily life. I’ve listened 3 times so far, and take something new away every time. Probably the best self-improvement book I’ve ever read, and the reader has a beautiful voice.

Exceptional content

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would change the way it was read. It sounded very posh, the reader sounded like a snob, a pretentious person who likes to brag.

What other book might you compare L'art de la Simplicité to and why?

The Osho book collection of his teachings.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator unfortunately ruined this book for me, I am sorry to say that. The fact that one should choose his/her clothes with care became the fact that you must only wear fancy expensive I-AM-BETTER-THAN-EVERYONE clothes. Because of the way it was read, I found that terrible..

Do you think L'art de la Simplicité needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I think it covered everything, no need for a second book, unless it actually is a list of activity ideas.

Very Good Advice, Very Posh Way of Reading

I really enjoyed this book and the narrator has a lovely voice. There are some valuable insights that are very enlightening. I do disagree with some of the beauty advice, though. The author says that expensive creams do nothing and to only use a face oil. I gave it a try and within a week I looked every bit of my 41 years. It took me a few days to realize why I looked so haggard because I really didn’t have a complicated routine to start with. Once I went back to using face wash, day lotion and night cream I started to look way better almost instantly. I actually looked in the mirror this morning and saw such an improvement that I said “she’s WRONG” out loud. Maybe it works for some people but beware, lol.
