Publisher's summary

Internationally acclaimed psychic medium and best-selling author John Edward has captivated audiences worldwide with his unique abilities to connect people with loved ones who have crossed over to the Other Side. Now in this groundbreaking book, John takes you on an infinite quest to develop your own psychic intuition as a powerful tool for taking charge of your life.

John believes that everyone has intuitive energy and psychic potential - for instance, many of us can recall knowing that the phone was going to ring and who it was on the other end, or we will “get a feeling” about something. That “feeling” is psychic energy. His goal is to help you understand your intuitive potential and tap into it to take chances and make choices with confidence.

By following certain guidelines and intuition-building exercises on this meta-physical journey, we can learn to get in touch with our Spirit Guides and identify the psychic energy around us on deeper levels - including connecting with the energy of those who have passed. John also explores the importance of psychic self-defense and reveals how divination tools like numerology and tarot cards can further assist you on your path.

Like John’s new website that gives this book its name, Infinite Quest is truly a “portal to all things metaphysical”.

Had the potential to be a great book...BUT

Any additional comments?

This book had a lot of good information and I enjoyed it for the most part. I just had a hard time with how many mentions of his website he threw in. At times I didn't know if I was listening to a commercial or the actual book. Also, Mr. Edwards seems to be a bit too arrogant for my taste.

Interesting material, don't care for the attitude

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. My friends are not into this topic. A person really needs to be open to the concepts of the psychic realm to get anything from it.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The ending fit well as a summary to the book.

What aspect of John Edward’s performance would you have changed?

The performance was fine. It was clear he is the author and is passionate about the material.

Could you see Infinite Quest being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

n/a

Any additional comments?

I had never heard of John Edward prior to reading this book. John clearly knows the subject matter he presents. There is a lot of good information in here. I think anyone who is interested in developing his or her own psychic skills could benefit from the many suggestions contained herein. The big downside to this book for me was John railing against the "ego monster", then displaying his own to drive home a point. He lost a little credibility with me on that point, but to be fair I have been listening to other authors lately (e.g. Eckhart Tolle, Gary Renard) who have very strict viewpoints on ego control. Hope this helps and happy listening!

A little info, a lot of self-promotion, criticism

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If there were more pertinent advice. The author tends to veer off the subject a lot of times, so many side stories. You could totally delete the first part and not miss a thing. Talks about EGO which he has a lot of, still. I have a "feeling" he's still so full of himself and self-promotion rather than an innate desire to help others.

Any additional comments?

Don't know why but this is the kind of book I'm struggling to finish for lack of interest. Probably not really my cup of tea.

Incredibly shallow approach and a waste of time

What disappointed you about Infinite Quest?

The repetitive themes revealed a lack of content and demonstrated a complete lack of depth on any particular topic, aside from the author's own self-promotion. The continual reminder to minimize one's ego would be sound advice to the author, which seems quite hypocritical.

What was most disappointing about John Edward’s story?

After you suffer through the first hour or two, the remainder of the audio book was an overview of different psychic techniques without a substantial treatment on any a given topic. There certainly are better sources for a contrast and comparison of various psychic techniques. Most of the information is watered-down dribble.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

His attempt to be conversational and charasmatic was awful. Audible should have used a different narrator. And the occasional use of profanity did not emphasize a point but would tend to detract from the presentation.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Infinite Quest?

It was twice as long as it should have been. The degree of repetition was unbearable. The author's desire to be

Uplifting and informative

Very interesting uplifting and full of wonderful guidance. I loved this book. Not one to teach you how to be a medium or physic but packed with great information on developing your psychic intuition. Down to earth and highly spiritual.

Must be hard to write for such a wide audience...

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I like John Edward and evidently would not have continued to listen if it were not time well-spent...however, I personally did not take a lot away from the book other than it seems that he has likely had entirely too many people try to capitalize on him or his name and is concerned that he is going to encourage someone to start a practice that is not ready.

Would you ever listen to anything by John Edward again?

Possibly. He has a great voice and sense of humor and is incredibly gifted. It would depend on the subject.

What does John Edward bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

When reading someone I have heard speak before, I generally do not have a difficult time "hearing" them read when I am reading a book. However, I have heard some books where someone else is doing the audio and it is HORRIBLE so I am glad that he narrated it himself.

Could you see Infinite Quest being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No.

Any additional comments?

I don't think that he actually was ready to write this book, or perhaps I just shouldn't have bought it. I'm not sure what his experiences are that he would be so afraid that someone would suddenly put a shingle out and start doing readings for people and use his name. It felt like more warnings than encouragement. If you have been a medium, tarot reader, astrologer, intuitive psychic, whatever, all of your life or most of it, but hide your gifts from most everyone you know, this is not going to be a particularly helpful read. If you are just beginning to recognize interest and gifts in these areas, go for it!
