Information only

This is okay for information only. Perhaps good for people who don't know anything about music.

Not really an ultimate guide...

If you are an absolute beginner with no introduction to singing whatsoever, then this book might get you started. However, the information is very basic and will not get you very far.

There are many better alternatives out there.

Also, what's up with starting a 30 min program with legal/copyright information? Terrible.

What insight do you think you’ll apply from How to Sing?

All insights on the audiobook are essential to make sure the listener can better learn about singing. For me, I will surely apply the one from the book that entails one to be able to choose the niche or kind of voice projection because it defines the quality and skills of your voice.

This audiobook contains real and proven methods used by singers to help aspiring ones like me.

This should be called "Singing for Dummies"

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Substance. This is really a non book. It's very short and doesn't tell anything of substance about music. This is for people who haven't even listened to music much less sung. It's a ridiculous book.

What was most disappointing about Sam Siv’s story?

There was nothing to it. It wasn't even a story.

What three words best describe Deborah Fennelly’s performance?

Nothing wrong with her performance except that she had nothing to read. The problem is with the book.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No

Any additional comments?

Don't bother with this book. I want my money back!

Sing in Tune - This Really Helps!

Would you consider the audio edition of How to Sing to be better than the print version?

Yes, I think that the audio edition definitely is a better version than the print version in this instance.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

The section on breathing was very helpful. I did not know that standing up made such a difference. I also enjoyed the section on recording your voice before you start this exercise and then recording during different times. You really can hear a difference.

Any additional comments?

This book is an excellent guide to help your singing voice. Whether you want to do it professionally, in a church choir or just sing in the car, you will hear a definite difference in your voice.

I’m not sure what I just bought...

First 3 “chapters “ were all legal info and copy right disclaimers ....Definitely NOT what I expected..I was at least expecting some music notes or tones... Nothing except instructional techniques to follow and use for practice .. very disappointed.

Teaching myself to sing

Any additional comments?

Sam Siv always impresses me with his guides. I always learn a lot from his books and am able to apply what I have learned immediately into my everyday life. I have always wanted to increase my ability to sing, but did not know where to start. That is why I made this purchase when I saw that Sam Siv had a guide. I am glad that I went ahead and got the audio-book because I felt like Deborah Fennelly was my personal singing coach. Overall I cannot express how much I took away from this book (my singing has definitely improved) and therefore I highly recommend this guide.
