Publisher's summary

Fear is devastatingly real. All of us, at some point, have faced it. In fact, about one out of 10 people has experienced a panic attack or a crisis situation. From fear of public speaking to fear of spiders, this feeling can prevent us from reaching our full potential. Large or small, the things we fear may seem insurmountable, but they're not. How to Overcome Fear teaches you that the closer you get to your fears, the more you understand them and the more easily you can defeat them. Speaking from his own experience, Marcos Witt takes listeners on a clear path toward following the word of God as a bridge to living a life of victory and freedom, without fear.

The first step toward the conquest of fear is to acknowledge that the problem exists. The second step is to seek help. Let Marcos lead the way. He has inspired millions with his songs and his sermons. Now let him inspire you with his words.

Little Practical Info

Very little practical info on tackling fear. A lot of out your faith in God answer is the answer throughout the book.

Amazing

Marcos is truly a gifted man who has endured many difficulties. He talks about his experiences with anxiety and depression and how he used god as well as others to help him through it. He also talks about fear and how it isnt necessary to fear anything, well except fear itself! This book hit close to home and was probably the best interpretation and understanding of fear that I have ever come across. This was an amazing book I would reccomend to anyone!

Excellent book with actual steps to follow

I suffer from panic attacks and a couple of phobias. I have read quite a few theories on how to overcome these obstacles, but none puts it in a Christian context as well as this book. What I really like are the end of chapter prayers and talking/workbook like points... those get you *doing* something instead of just sitting in the passenger seat listening. I've been listening to this book off and on for a few days (15 to 20 minutes at a time)...if you follow his advice and quit immobilizing yourself and actually MOVE and DO, you will succeed. I feel better already and although I am not 100% there yet, I am confident this book and Marcos' advice will help me get there.

As far as presentation, I always like it better when the author reads their own work. It sounds more "true" to me. This book does not disappoint. Marcos is easy to listen to and presents the material very conversationally, as if he's sitting down with you at lunch to discuss.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who struggles with ANY kind of fear (even fear of success or failure as he points out) not just phobias and anxiety. There's something for everyone here.
