Publisher's summary

How do you help someone...who helps someone?

You put 30 years of experience into their hands!

Drawing upon an astonishing three decades as a caregiver for his wife, author/radio host Peter Rosenberger brings his wealth of experience to today's massive caregiver population.

Weaving poignant insights, deep faith, proven practical help, and his outrageous humor, Peter takes caregivers on an amazing journey towards a healthier lifestyle...regardless of the circumstances they face.

As a caregiver through a medical nightmare that includes 78 surgeries, 80+ physicians, 12 hospitals, multiple amputations, and $10+ million in medical bills, Peter understands the challenges of a caregiver in ways that few do.

He is on a mission to strengthen and equip fellow caregivers to stay emotionally, physically, and fiscally healthy...as they care for a vulnerable loved one.

Recording this book was a labor of love that Peter did for his friend, Vernon, who cared for his wife through dementia and cancer. Vernon's eyes made it difficult for me to read as he spent long hours in the hospital at her side, so Peter recorded the book for him.

With special bonus features of Peter's music, and songs performed by his wife, Gracie, this audiobook will inspire, comfort, strengthen every caregiver. Even as they have tears on their face, Peter's contagious humor will have them busting out in laughter.

Peter understands the heart of a caregiver. He also know that healthy caregivers make better caregivers! As caregivers listen to this audiobook, they will soon find themselves in the company of a trusted friend who understands their pain, heartache, rage, frustration, and loneliness. They will finish the book stronger, wiser, calmer, and even...more joyful.

Absolute best!

This book is hands down at absolute blessing. No one tells it like Peter and to have him weave biblical quotes in his story is the ultimate guidance.
And after all that - he’s funny!!
Peter is a blessing and this book is a treasure.

Useful advice hidden under layers of Bible quotes

Full disclosure - reviewed after listening to only 1 hrs 49 min, i just couldn’t ease my through any more Bible quotes that stress having faith to see you through the stress of caregiving. The book is organized in short chapters with insightful theme for caregivers of chronically ill patient. The reader has to plod through far too many platitudes and trite quotes to just have faith. Author narrates and sounds like an old fashioned Southern preacher. Had I known this was a religious approach for caregiver support I would not have bought this book. For those steeped in Christianity, this could be helpful insights.

Caregivers Need This Book

Peter is writing this book from his heart to help other caregivers cope with the challenges they all face. As a national speaker on this subject and a caregiver for over 30 years, his book is an excellent source for all caregivers to read and refer back to as their journeys take various paths and destinations. I highly recommend this book and all his broadcasts on the subject as well.

Incredible Book for Caregivers needing Encouraged

This book is amazing. It is loaded with encouragement for those who are caregivers, whether they are long-time caregivers or new to caregiving. They can find hope, tips, candor and a little humor to ease the pain just from reading this book. I guarantee upon reading it, if you are a caregiver, you will no longer feel so alone. The chapters are short - so it can easily be used just as a quick reference or a quick page of encouragement. No matter what chapter you flip to, you'll find something good to hang onto. Mr. Rosenberger does a great job reminding caregivers that it is okay to take care of themselves so they can have/keep the strength to be better caregivers. I wish I would've had it when I was caring for my mom.

Peter's use of cliches, acronyms and humor make his key points memorable

Peter shares practical advise interspersed with Biblical instruction, memorable quotes and humor gleaned from thirty years of caregiving experience. Caregivers will benefit greatly in all aspects of their lives as they gain a greater understanding of the importance of caring for their own personal needs and maintaining their own identity while caring for their loved one. Peter's use of cliches, acronyms and humor will help caregivers to remember key points long after they finish reading/listening to this book.
