Helpful for understanding relationships with teens

I got this book after my husband and son had a major blowup. I just finished it and have a greater understanding of my role and my husband’s in how our son has turned out. It has given me perspective and tips on how to change my behaviors in order for my son to change his behaviors. I am having my husband listen to this as well so he can understand how his actions spur on our son’s behavior and how he (my husband) can make his own changes to save his relationship with our son. I will be checking out Dr. Leman’s other books for more practical advice.

Wonderful resource!

My boys are 14, 12, and 10 years old. This book has suggestions that I have used for all three boys, and they have worked! My only regret is that I didn't know about Kevin Leman years ago. I cannot wait to start the birth order book next!

Great and Sensible Book

This is one of those books that not everyone is going to agree with, at least not at first. But I likewise think that if everyone really took some time really think about what they don't agree with, they would soon enough see the wisdom of the advice. Like the author said the advice is mostly commonsense.

I would recommend this book - I listen to it on an ongoing basis to keep focused on issues with my teenagers. How we do not realize what we are doing until it is pointed out by someone else.
