When you encounter signs of domestic violence, what do you do?
Some of us may have been through it, and others have seen it in other people's homes. Domestic violence is a serious problem. The stats don't lie, but they aren't completely accurate either. They reveal the victims who speak up, but not the ones who stay silent. If you are wondering what is involved in domestic violence, what to do, and how to recognize it, then you've come to the right place. In this book, you'll hear about:
This book tells you about a different situation and how to heal from domestic abuse. It is easy to read and will help you to take back control of your own life. This book is helping me to understand and how to deal with this kind of people.

This book is a good read, and Mandy Whomack story needed to be told. It took courage to put his story out there for all to read. It really is a shame that in today's society the subject of domestic violence still focuses on the man being the abuser. I am glad Mandy Whomack finally found some happiness in his life.

Would you listen to Domestic Violence again? Why?
I could listen to this book all day in one sitting as it is the book which was in my ''most awaiting book'' list.
Any additional comments?
What makes this book unique is the diverse types of domestic violence it covers. For instances, with the increasing number of senior citizens, the topic on elder abuse was particularly eye opening. This book was truly worth the time, to listen to.

This book brought to bear a unique insight into a complicated and subtle process to which we are all subject to in one way or another at different times. It is written in simple straightforward and uncomplicated language. I recommend it strongly It made me feel sorry for the people who were trying to make conversation with her...it seemed to me that she was exhibiting the same insensitivity and control that I've been experiencing for the past few years. I'm not sure of the relevance of these stories to the book...

This was a very enlightening book. I recommend it for everyone, who is in any type of relationship. It helped me deal with every day issues. I bought it for my 21 year old daughter who keeps dating these controlling men. Then I read it after she did. And I was even more enlightened.

I would have given this book 5 stars, except that it almost seems to be a male-bashing book. I am sure that the majority of controllers are male and there aren't enough examples to be found where the controller is female. Also, most men would never read this book because it's not "manly" to read these kinds of books.

Any woman who has ever been in a relationship with a man who is not supportive of the fact that she is a completely different person than he is NEEDS this book. This book changed my life and my beliefs on what kind of man I want in my life. If you are in a relationship where you are walking on eggshells, you don't really have a say in anything, your partner has to "approve" anything you do, you are always apologizing,This book is not about physical abuse, but the subtle emotional abuse which can actually be WORSE!
If your partner makes you feel "less than", BUY THIS BOOK!!

I had read the print version and it was very poignant but the book was brought to life in the audio format. The book reads to me like a conversation so to hear it was perfect!!
A compelling story about surviving domestic violence. The story was well written by Mandy Whomack and very well narrated by Denise L. Fountain Something everyone should be aware of....domestic violence is NOT a one way street.

This is a powerful story and well done. It is a good representation of a disease that is still too prevalent in the world today. Kudos to Mandy Whomack. A well written story about a dreadful disease and a woman that got the courage to overcome.I would love to see this story on the "Big Screen.
