Publisher's summary

Piles of junk in garages and closets, overflowing papers on desks, items unused for years, masses of unanswered email, clothing never worn, useless gifts that collect dust; all these things, says Brooks Palmer, come weighted with shame and guilt and have a suffocating effect on spirit and soul. In this insightful book, Palmer shows how to get rid of the things in our lives that no longer serve us. By tossing out these unneeded items, we are also eliminating their negative influences, freeing up energy, and unlocking our potential.

Loaded with inspiring anecdotes and practical tips, Clutter Busting is based on the premise that your things are not sacred, but you are. The book explores such fundamental topics as the false identities we assume through clutter, the fear of change those junk piles represent, the addictive nature of holding on to objects, how clearing clutter makes room for clarity and sweeps away confusion and stasis, and much more. With Brooks's upbeat and compassionate guidance, you'll find yourself clearing the way for new and exciting things to come into your life.

This is the most comprehensive book about clutter busting

I have read several books since lost five years from different authors some of them are good but this is excellent because it talks about your psychological dependency, causes and solutions basically it talks about the roots of being cluttered.
I have no idea Claudette is south is a disease psychological disease but how do you get rid of it do you want to see a psychologist years and years or you want to read a good book in the meantime getting rid of the things and I am reading again now this book after so many years I have been trying to get rid of my things which is not easy which is not easy.
It is actually not just about clutter he talks how about you yourself who you are where you are what do you want or where you want to be when you're free in yourself.
I am 70 years old I have collections antiques for 4045 years and I'm trying to get rid of them I had no idea being collected his was a psychological disease anyway at least to the level where I am or where I was.
The book is much more about enlightenment life than just talking about Clutter.
This is recorded message I have not look at into the grammar typing Errors I'll be back again once I do relieve myself from some sort of clutter that I'll have more updates but I am now.
Please do me a favor even if you're not closer person like I am to the level stop by the book or listen to audiobook like I am doing and it will help you tremendously.
🔑🔑🔑 I wish I had read that kind of book or I had a coach 30-40 years ago I would have not been in the station where I am now. Having a Audiobooks helped me a lot because it is well narrated and it feels like all the time he's talking to me what a pleasant frenzy coaching voice

Excellent - very inspiring and insightful

Not an organizing book - rather a book to detach from the myriad of stuff in our lives which constitute clutter and free ourselves from its hold on us. Clutter of all sorts...physical as well as the mental and emotional clutter which support/cause the physical clutter. How releasing the physical clutter can also release long held mental and emotional clutter. Relating helpful true life accounts of how the author has assisted numerous clients with many and varying sorts of clutter. I believe this book has the opportunity to help most anyone with any level of clutter issues… Even if they believe they do not have clutter issues. Best to embrace this book with an open mind and heart, allowing space for change in your life…truly beneficial change and transformation. Both inspiring and motivational offering tips and exercises for embracing and successfully clutter busting your life. Highly recommended. Also written with good doses of humor/levity.

tough love

I'm a nut for decluttering inspiration and this is my all time favorite book on the subject. Unlike the very brilliant Konmari (her books are awesome too), this author has no sympathy for the objects stuffing your house. I've listened to this book several times (including during decluttering marathons) and it gives me the strength to just throw the carp away.

Amazing

This book helps one understand how clutter becomes emotional clutter sometimes even psychological and spiritual clutter. It's one of the best books I've ever read

Interesting Insight and Motivating!

I've listened to this twice and will again. The author reads it, which is always a plus, but I did have to speed it up a bit otherwise he sounds very down and depressing.Excellent insights on why people have clutter, why they don't let it go, and how to start taking steps/changing your mindset so you can clear it out. I liked that in each chapter there was a task to do, definitely helped get me motivated.

Excellent resource for moving

I found this during my move. The book enabled me to let go of a lot of clutter that would have followed me to my new place. I am very grateful to the author for helping me get to the bottom of what has been holding me back from letting go of things.

Great book, awkward audio mixing

I thought the advice in this book was fantastic and Im going to use it when helping my mom clutterbust. It has also opened my eyes to clutter I still have. The audio mixing was very awkward however. There is no pause between sections of a chapter or between chapters which can can be very jarring. You need to leave a moment for the last sentence of a chapter sink in before you hit the reader with the very next chapter.

The perfect motivation

This book is full of fantastic honesty to help you get rid of the junk around you that is pulling you down. I found myself taking notes from the beginning. This is such a great complement to The Life-changing Magic of Tidying Up. I’ve immediately started putting his advice into practice, and I’m excited to do more. Thank you!!!

Very organized and insightful book

Wow, really zoomed in on clutter attracting areas and actually reasons about why one should let it go and clear out whatever no longer serves you. I am actually taking action, slowly but surely and can see that this is the start of truly paring down my possessions. (Clutter!). There are parts of the book where I cringe because I am so guilty. Action will change that.
