Publisher's summary

THERE ARE A THOUSAND VOICES TELLING ME WHO I AM, OR WHO I SHOULD BE. I WANT TO HEAR WHAT GOD HAS TO SAY. I WANT TO KNOW THAT HE'S REALLY THERE. I WANT TO KNOW THAT IN THE WHOLE GRAND, TANGLED SWEEP OF THE HUMAN STORY, MY LITTLE STORY MATTERS. I NEED TO HEAR HIS VOICE, SPEAKING TO ME, IN MY OWN EARS...

In Close Enough to Hear God Breathe, acclaimed author Greg Paul shows listeners through beautiful prose, powerful stories, and inventive teaching a rich message that recounts the story of a God who has been inviting all of humanity—and each individual—into a tender embrace since time began.

God longs for a relationship with each of His children. Our stories matter to Him. Your story matters to Him. Reading the Bible ought to be like putting one's head on God's chest and listening to His heartbeat. Close Enough to Hear God Breathe will help listeners do just that. And when they do, they'll hear God whisper, "You are my child. I love you. And I am pleased with you."

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

this book was not able to keep my attention, to much babbling between getting to the point of each chapter.

My children do this

The title is very good and the author uses many examples from his family life to illustrate how we can get closer to God. But then I am not sure if I like to hear all the time what is children did when they were younger, I was looking for little bit more solid teaching. The author seems to like telling stories and I am sure many listeners like them, but this time it did not attract me so much.
