Outdated and outright risky

I was continually disappointed with this book as it repeatedly recommends outdated and debunked (even at its print date - see fallout from PACE trial) strategies. In particular, Graded Exercise Therapy is repeatedly advised in the book; the CDC has strongly come out against increased exercise given how it exacerbates Post-Exertional Malaise (a hallmark criterion for CFS diagnosis that receives no real acknowledgment in this book). The repeated recommendation of trying to incrementally increase general activities, without warnings about monitoring for PEM, is also dangerous and setting patients up for failure. The final straw for me was the suggestion that CFS is never deadly. This erasure of the realities of those who have, in fact, died from ME-CFS and/or complications directly related to it was an egregious error. Please seek out a more up-to-date help book.
