Breaking the Barriers: Unlocking the Keys to Inner Peace is a topical devotional resource that is the first of a three volume series that aims to provide the listener with spiritual keys to help them overcome common barriers that prevent them from experiencing inner peace. These keys are intended to help the listener unlock the door of inner peace, move forward in life, and get unstuck from the ruts of sadness, frustration, and inner turmoil. As a result of experiencing peace, the listener is released to become the person who God wants them to be and achieve the purpose that God has for their life.

The 3 D's - despair - disappointment - depression

The three D’s are despair, disappointment, and depression. In my life I find that I sequence things in a different order...disappointment, depression and then despair.

These are the 3 things that block us from our higher power. Reverend Mayden gives thoughtful feedback on how to deal with these issues. I like the way the book provides the HOW TO at the end of each section.

I like the narrator L. David Harris. He has a great speaking voice and covers the subjects with enthusiasm.

not what I was hoping for.

I am writing a review because I got this book for free. The examples he is using are too simple and not realistic. For example, a man in prison isn't exonerated because he tells the pastor he believes he will be let go. He gets exonerated because of the complex situation surrounding his conviction and the hard work of the people supporting him. Stop telling Christian people these simplistic solutions to complex problems in life. No wonder people look at religion as dumbing down the masses. Get real and educate your followers in proper ways of dealing with their lives. Stop telling them to just believe and pray and everything will get better. It won't. Get real. Believe in God, but also learn to deal with your problems in proper ways.

Great Book For Gaining Insight & Inner Peace

BREAKING THE BARRIERS: KEYS TO UNLOCKING INNER PEACE is a wonderful book written by REV. JOHN CLARK MAYDEN JR discussing the things that keep us in daily turmoil. He goes over the three D's, which are despair, disappointment, and depression which we all go through at some point in our lives. He offers great suggestions for overcoming these obstacles through faith in Jesus Christ.

This was a quick listen which I liked. This kept the book fresh. We all strive for inner peace and many don't know where to look. This book will tell you to look no further than God. And that's good advice. As a person with physical disabilities, I have days when I need reminded of this.

About the narrator. L. DAVID HARRIS does a nice job reading this book. he has a positive attitude that reflects throughout the book. He speaks clearly and made this an overall great listen.
