Rory Freedman, co-author of the number-one New York Times mega-seller Skinny Bitch, returns with a call-to-arms to all animal lovers.
So many of us call ourselves animal lovers and worship our dogs and cats - but we could be using that love as a force for helping all animals. Beg is a battle cry on their behalf, as well as an inspirational, empowering guide to what we can do to help them. With the same no-nonsense tone that made Skinny Bitch a multi-million copy success, Beg galvanizes us to change our choices and actions, and to love animals in a radical new way.
The description is kind of vague, I thought this would be a nice animal story... It's not, it's just the author trying to educate people on the importance of spaying and rescuing vs buying, etc. Sure the premise is good, but for educated and responsible dog owners such as myself (and the author), it's nothing we don't know so it's quite boring. Please note I stopped at a little over an hour once she moved on to animal testing as I didn't care to hear more things I already knew about...

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
If the book would have been what it appeared to be. The Book should have been named "Veg" not "Beg". There should not be a dog on the front of this book.
This book only briefly mentions anything about dog or cats for that mater. The the only mention is really to point out that the author is a part-time dog owner. I suspect to give her an ounce of credibility.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Probably Purple Cow (for business) or A Dog's Purpose (hopefully it is a REAL dog book)
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Rory Freedman?
I don't know that you could have someone else narrate it. It is just her preaching of why we should all change to follow her opinion.
I think if anyone else was narrating this book they would have stopped an hour into it and flipped back to the cover and questioned, "What is this book suppose to be about?"
What character would you cut from Beg?
The Author! Her entire animal rights \ vegan soap box rhetoric.
Any additional comments?
I am frustrated and upset that I was duped into buying this book. I am embarrassed to have it in my library.
If you are looking for a book to get to know your dog better, or a book to become a better pet owner\parent; this is NOT it.
This is a book about how we should all be vegans and stop wearing fur, leather, and wool. This book is only propaganda and animal rights rhetoric. There is nothing of value to the pet owner in this book. The cover image and title of this book is very deceitful and dis-representative.
I want my money back. If you are into this animal rights \ vegan stuff I would think there are better places to invest\spend your money then this book, also.

I have not finished this book and have no intention to finish it.
I would say this is a solid "DO NOT BUY".
But at least if you do buy, hopeful this review will let you know what you are getting and you will not feel tricked by the deceptive cover.
