"10X with a new cover"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?If it was new content. This was the same information as the 10x Rule, which was great and I highly recommend. Readers should choose either this book or the 10X Rule but not both.
Has Be Obsessed or Be Average turned you off from other books in this genre?No not the genre, but I will not buy another book from Grant Cardone in fear of wasting my money on another book with the same concepts. I feel like I was duped because I am a fan , Grant took advantage of that.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Grant Cardone?He was a fine narrator
Any additional comments?Repeated concepts that were already presented in his previous books.

"love the guy. this is just 10x with a new name"
Love Grant Cardone and own a lot of his books. That's why it pains me to write this but I have to be honest. This is basically just the 10X book switching the term 10X with "Be Obsessed".

"Money? Yes. Full Life? Not quiiiiite...."
Cardone says he wrote this book because people were telling him they applied the 10X philosophy and, while their financial/business success soared, other parts of their lives were falling apart. "Be Obsessed or Be Average" is supposed to show you how you can have it all.
Uhm, well, you can have a great marriage... as long as you marry someone who doesn't mind that "date night" is actually for four or more people and is used to network. Marry someone who, when asks, "Gee. We're now moving, the car's rolling; where are we moving to?" and responds, "Oh... okay," when you say, "I don't know." And you can have a great family life by spending 15-20 minutes with your children per day (Quality time vs. Quantity time because, "Kids don't need that much time, especially the older they get.")
Okay, so there's that. But the good takeaways I got were about how being obsessed wipes out zero free time/wasted time. About how to be steadfastly persistent. About how to cultivate the positive influences in your life (Listen to people who are more successful than you; negative people are usually those who are fearful and who haven't done much). There were parts that were inspiring, parts that filled me with a positive zeal.
This is a listen where the tent revival preacher shouts the good news to you (and I do mean "shouts"). Just don't expect to find much in the way of balance here. Plus, be prepared to listen about Grant's jet a whoooole lot...91 of 113 people found this review helpful -
"Awoke my giant!"
This book awoke the sleeping giant inside. As a realtor I had slacked. I had became average. Before I had even finished the book I've probably profited $30,000-$40,000.
Now I'm obsessed and it feels sooooo good. When you know your destined for more being average kills you a little every day inside. Being obsessed feels like I've been saved!6 of 7 people found this review helpful -
"A good message, turned sales pitch"
I liked the "be obsessed" message, until it turned into a a sales pitch for his ridiculously expensive get rich quick sales school... "give me 20,000 and I'll make you a millionaire"... gross, almost like listening to a televangelist

"#BOBA, GRANT CARDONE is the Man. "
just wrapped up listening to the book. it has definitely ignited my internal pilot for life. I look forward to buying and reading the hard copy and ready to spread the word about being obsessed with life.

"Excellent but drop your ego at the door, please!"
Any additional comments?Well, what can I say...I loved it. This guy really knows how to motivate, push, pull, kick around...the works. Before this I listened to a Larry Winget book, and I taught he was tough and yelled a lot...well, Mr. Cardone is one notch further.
But you must be aware that the guy has a tendency to exaggerate and he does it from start to finish...or maybe it's just me being soft now. I definitely need to listen to it again and again over the years and see how I find it.
But the key point is that the book leaves you motivate IF you drop your ego and be truthful to yourself. Admit where you dropped your dreams just because you found a reason or actually looked for one, and listen to the guy.19 of 25 people found this review helpful -
"Must read for Obsessive Determined people"
I thought I had a mental disorder. I even named it, Obsessive Determined Disorder (ODD). Apparently, I'm just obsessed and it's a good thing. Thanks Grant!

"Quit whining and get obsessed!"
If you could sum up Be Obsessed or Be Average in three words, what would they be?In. Your. Face.
What other book might you compare Be Obsessed or Be Average to, and why?Possibly something by Tony Robbins, but this guy is waaaaay more intense!

Any additional comments?Ok,yeah GC is loud, obnoxious and arrogant (and he's entitled to be, he's made an incredible life for himself). And yeah, he swears. But man, he puts a rocket up your behind like not other!!! It took me two weeks to get through this book. I listened each morning as I got ready for work (I work freelance from home) and each day I have gone to work and pushed myself harder and further than I ever dreamed I would. He really makes you see that you can't get what you want as well as make excuses for why you're not trying hard enough (we've all got them!). I'm absolutely exhausted but still pushing myself! Because when you're obsessed you don't care about being tired! Thanks GC!I would say this isn't for newbies to the self-help world because it's pretty hard core, so it's perfect for extreme self-helpers! But then again, if you're looking for inspiration and motivation and you are really ready to put the work in, this book will do that whether you are new to self help or not.Now tempted to get 10x! I'm obsessed!!!

"Obsessed?"
For my personal development I listen at least one audiobook per week. It is only rare to discover a book that challenges your thinking over and over again. I listened this book 1.5x speed, which makes Grant Cardone even more intense then he already is.
If you want you drive and passion to be lifted to another level, this is the book for you.

"Narcissistic sales rant"
I fooled by some of the reviews for this book and I regret not researching the author before making the purchase. It's basically unoriginal salesman talk with no substance or genuine advice. The author lacks empathy for anyone not wired like him. The basic advice is make huge goals, write them down every day, obsess and work hard to meet your goals and don't listen to others negative views. Be persistent . Make money.

"Everyone needs this book"
I cannot praise Grant or this book enough. I waited for months for this book to be released and was not disappointed. No matter who you are or what successes you are hoping to achieve over your lifetime, this book will help you find it. I have read the paperback twice already and have lost count of how many times I've listened to this audio book so far, it is my go to when I need to get myself fired up or if I need a little reassurance about where I'm headed. I have also bought several copies for friends and family because I believe they can't afford to miss out on this information.

"Exceptional and true. "
I have to say I have found my mentor.
I have been obsessed sporadically throughout.y life and have found myself settling time and again. this has happened mainly due to my life being mentored by average!
I am not average, I've always known I'm not average but family, friends, teachers and booses persistently tell you that that is where you should be.
I know they set the bar way too low for me.
Grant Cardone delivers in this book, the stuff that you need to hear in order to disseminate the lies and average goals that you have been set by your peers so far.

"The book you been waiting for all your life"
If you are fed up with soft talk motivational books . Society telling you that something is wrong with you or that your success is way beyond everyone else and you should chill out a little. If you fed up
With not feeling the best In your own skill because you know your potential is way beyond it all , this book is a must, a bible a Koran a mantra , get it , get it now and send it to all your loved ones that you truely care about. And study it listen to in day and night brain wash yourself to the point that your genius is awaken .

"Much better than I expected, a must have book"
Would you consider the audio edition of Be Obsessed or Be Average to be better than the print version?I think you need both printed and audible. I'm an experienced salesman and this has given me the kick up the backside I need. I can see why this guy is so successful. I have a 45-minute commute, this sets me up for the day. An exceptional book.
What did you like best about this story?This guy is not normal and I identified with that. He has had a lot of people telling him to slow down and he ignores them. I'm happiest when I'm producing and working longer hours.
Have you listened to any of Grant Cardone’s other performances? How does this one compare?I bought 4 more and I will buy all of his books. I have a few in hardback now. Most of the other sales books are poor, this has original content that makes a lot of sense.
