Publisher's summary

Ram Dass’s long-awaited Be Love Now is the transformational teaching of a forty year journey to the heart. The author of the two-million-copy classic Remember, Be Here Now and its influential sequel Still Here, Dass is joined once more by Rameshwar Das—a collaborator from the Love Serve Remember audio recordings—to offer this intimate and inspiring exploration of the human soul. Like Deepak Chopra’s Book of Secrets, the Dalai Lama’s Art of Happiness, and Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Coming to Our Senses, Ram Dass’s Be Love Now will serve as a lodestar for anyone seeking to enhance their spiritual awareness and improve their capacity to serve—and love—the world around them.

Another great one from Ram Dass but for the reader

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Listening to this book was a pain. The narrator, who constantly struggled with the word Maharaji, was terrible I couldn't get past Chapter 2, had to turn to another book. Can somebody please reread and reissue this book? The narrator did not do justice to the message. The substance was lost in the reading and any article by the master, Ram Dass, is excellent and enlightening. Ram Dass is the ultimate teacher and I revere him with all my heart but the reader was just terrible. As the other reader suggested, maybe just get the book...

Would you be willing to try another one of Dan Woren’s performances?

Not on your life.

Any additional comments?

Please reread and reissue this book!

Ram Dass great/ narrater close to terrible

having followed ram dass for almost half a century, this book is a must. however i would rather have found the book as the narrator is bad~~he mangles many of the indian terms, city names as well as people's names~~~~. In addition it felt to me that he was just reading and did not himself understand what he was reading. Oh well....If the book is close by i would recommend you buy it instead.

Hippy dippy sillyness

I am a skeptic so this book was not meant for me. I was open to hearing about this lifestyle but the descriptions did not sell me.

The stories are interesting and would be world shattering (gurus curing blindness and disease) if there were any sort of proof to them. We are supposed to believe very fantastical stories about these gurus based on heresay. Heresay provided by people on psychedelic drugs. And to be completely honest, many of the gurus kind of sound like delusional a-holes.

That's not to say, the book is completely without merit. I think the concept of stripping away your ego and living in the moment is very important and relevant. The small portion where Ram Dass describes going back home and dealing with the "real world" after his experiences in India was the most interesting part of the book. I think there could have been very useful insight there but it was a very short section.

If you already buy into this philosophy you will probably eat this up. But if you are a skeptic just curious about other lifestyles it will not change your mind.

Love the content but not the peformance

I was generally disappointed with the performance of the reader. He obviously did not know how to pronounce maharaji or psilocybin, or Shiva and a few other words that Ram Dass uses frequently to describe his experiences and substances. I felt as if though he knew nothing about Ram Dass' experiences. And I wondered if anyone had edited or listened previous to publication. That being said great content, great stories!

LOVED IT; LOVE RAM DASS and the teachings

If you love Ram Dass, you will want to get this book because it is as inspiring and on point as any teachings Ram Dass has given. It will not disappoint. The narrator does a fine job. Only wish it was much longer, more involved, and more stories. Ram Dass is an iconic legend.

Spiritual miracles

Loved all the amazing stories of the saints and their leela. Also, was very interesting to read Ram Das’s journey of meeting Maharaj ji and opening his spiritual heart to love everyone

Awesome Ram Dass teaching

Great content; the narrator is a bit cringe. He butchers the Indian words and his Maharajji (Maharaj(pause)Gee) gets a bit tiring. Grateful to have an audio format but please re-record with satsang, someone like Rameshwar Das.

My first Ram Dass book

Life changing book.
Ram Dass is a rare gem of a man.
He prompts Yoga of Devotion and of Love.
His stories and his humor is the best I’ve ever heard.
I wish he were still alive so I could meet him in person, but meeting in spirit is still enough.
Namaste Ram Dass, you have changed my life.

I reccomend his reading of the Bhagavad Gita on YouTube. Probably the best Audio I’ve ever heard of him, in front of a class room as well.

How was this narrator approved?

I love anything from Ram Dass. I’ve read and listened to everything I could get my hands on. I was hoping Rameshwar Das would be narrating. The story is, as usual, beautiful & Ram Dass does come through despite the narration. There are so many words mispronounced it is literally distracting. But I still feel it’s worth a listen…
