Publisher's summary

A somatic training program to open your heart to the world.

There is no more powerful vehicle for knowing yourself and others than the human heart. For it is through the opening of the heart that we touch our own deepest experience and come to connect with each other. In Awakening the Heart, Volume 2, Dr. Reggie Ray presents an in-depth somatic training curriculum designed to help us dismantle the walls around our hearts and dwell in bodhicitta (literally "awakened heart-mind").

Join Reggie for a progressive series of teachings and body-based meditations for rediscovering the vast and mysterious domain of the human heart - and accessing the depths of wisdom available within your body at this very moment. This is the path of bodhicitta, a compassionate commitment to be present to life and transform oneself in order to love everything that is in a way that is infinite and unconditional.

All encompassing

I have studied in this and other traditions for several decades now. This in my heart is the first and last journey. Reggie Ray speaks to our everyday relative experience and our ultimate spiritual aspirations. The practices are an embodiment of the teachings and of course what gives it the life.

Five galaxies. stars are not enough.

I have completed several of these course, which has led me to a retreat in Crestone. these teachings on compassion are powerful and so relevant to our world in its current state. We are all connected and our hearts already know this.

Valuable, but

There are some buddhist practices that are valuable. But there are also some flaws that makes the audiobook a bit hard. The talks are, in my opinion, too long. For me it was a good option to accelerate the speed. The last part was the one that let me to rate the audiobook so low. I'd recommend the author to make a new record of the Tonglen practice (and the others that follow). It's impossible to follow a meditation when you have a voice in your ear, over 26 minutes, non stop. Not a single pause. What is that? Either you do the practice and meditate, or listen to the instructor talking and talking and talking... Anyway, some of the meditations are deep and beautiful. Maybe the overall just wasn't for me.
