Publisher's summary

This audiobook will give you a clear understanding of what acid reflux is - a health condition experienced by almost half of the American population. It explains how and why acid reflux occurs as well as discusses in detail why the common health remedies prescribed by health professionals do not eradicate the condition and worsen it instead. Much more than that, the book contains proven nondrug and nonsurgical alternatives to effectively cure acid reflux, heartburn, and GERD.

Acid Reflux is a health condition where acidic stomach fluid leaks back up the food pipe (the esophagus), causing heartburn - a burning pain felt internally around the lower chest area. It is quite common for people to experience occasional heartburn since acid reflux usually results from eating or drinking certain types of food or drink for some people. However, the frequent occurrence of heartburn may indicate a more severe form of acid reflux condition called GERD (gastro-esophageal reflux disease). Although the condition may not be life threatening, it may lead to more serious health conditions in the future, such as cancer, if left unattended or uncared for. The book will help you eradicate the condition for good and prevent it from recurring without resorting to medication or surgery. I hope you find the information and recommendations truly valuable.

Very Informative!!!

A lot of very good information given in a clear and concise manner. Covers a broad spectrum of health related info (in addition to acid reflux). I got much more out of this presentation than I expected. I recommend this book to everyone!

Not informative

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Helpful passages, for the informed food consumer, shorter than the disclaimers.

Would you ever listen to anything by Anthony Wilkenson again?

No

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Donald R. Emero?

He was fine

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Very disappointed; book is only for those completely uninformed about importance of good food sources. Also very repetitive and redundant.

Contains inaccurate information

I'm a pharmacist. This audiobook is generally okay, but when you say that Zantac is a proton pump inhibitor, you lose all credibility with me. I believe in the gut brain balance. I agree that the health of the gut influences many systems in the body. I agree with many facets of his analysis. GERD can be cured, it can be controlled without pharmaceuticals. But for many, this is simply not an option. He should have detailed the pharmaceuticals more.

Oh, and Gaviscon comes in many formulations. Alginic acid is mostly listed as an inactive ingredient. Gaviscon most commonly contains aluminum hydroxide and magnesium carbonate as antacids.

There are better audiobooks on GERD, don't get this one.
