Story
The relentless pursuit of high self-esteem has become a virtual religion - and a tyrannical one at that. Our ultracompetitive culture tells us we need to be constantly above average to feel good about ourselves, but there is always someone more attractive, successful, or intelligent than we are. And even when we do manage to grab hold of high self-esteem for a brief moment, we can't seem to keep it. Our sense of self-worth goes up and down like a ping-pong ball, rising and falling in lockstep with our latest success or failure.

This suffering emerges in crippling self-judgments and conflicts in our relationships, in addictions and perfectionism, in loneliness and overwork - all the forces that keep our lives constricted and unfulfilled. Radical Acceptance offers a path to freedom, including the day-to-day practical guidance developed over Dr. Brach's 20 years of work with therapy clients and Buddhist students.

Every day we experience the uncertainty, risks, and emotional exposure that define what it means to be vulnerable or to dare greatly. Based on 12 years of pioneering research, Dr. Brené Brown dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and argues that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage. Brown explains how vulnerability is both the core of difficult emotions like fear, grief, and disappointment, and the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, empathy, innovation, and creativity.

This book is changing my entire outlook, without confusing me or SCARING me to death. This is because it is so straightforward and common sense. I feel Empowered. And almost Brave.I believe that this book is a MUST READ for anyone who is trapped in the vicious cycle of self-criticism and anything else that we do to ourselves that is less than kind. I am actually taking the time to do the exercises in the book with a journal and my life has CHANGED.

Fantastic
his book had a very transformative effect on my life. Although I had trouble with my anxiety, as an analytical overthinking kind of person, I needed a very valid reason to convince myself out of my suffering and anxiety. This book along with a therapist has replaced so much of my suffering with both Joy and compassion.

This book incredibly valuable overall.
This book helped me take a gander at this diversely and changed my point of view on self-thoughtfulness. Presently it's dependent upon me to incorporate everything and I anticipate doing with the tips and procedures that I learned. The core of this book for me by and by has a lot to do with seeing and feeling the enduring I "suffered" as a youthful child.By and huge, high school understudies are hesitant to take a stab at anything they can't manage without flawlessness - this thus impedes self-articulation in expressions of the human experience. I have just started to exchange a portion of the thoughts I am learning as I perused, into my classroom.
