Publisher's Summary

Pulled into another world after his death, Kirin now has to live a life full of things unknown to him. His knowledge as a tycoon seemed worthless, and the struggle to survive became apparent; but with the leveling system backing him up, he aims to live a life that is as modest as possible.

“Friends? I had none of that back then...let’s make some now! I am strong enough...right?” “Money? I am tired of those.... Eh? The system actually provides me after finishing a quest? Now that’s what I’d call convenience!”

Follow the story of our former tycoon as he lives a modest life (or at least tries to) in a fantasy world!

Tycoon is a LitRPG series.

A very unique take on The LITRPG genre

Most LitRPG books are about being in the game leveling up questing etc...what happens when a player just wants to live a modest life in the game being say a porter for an adventuring party...will they be able to? Can they escape the grind? This is a very unique and interesting story that I enjoyed very much. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher

A whole new life

Although the MC is portrayed as having been placed in a game (with no clue of how or why), he appears to be the only player in this game. Many other people are around and although they act like players in some ways, they appear to be NPC's. Many references are made to his past life as a business tycoon as well as how different he is to all the other people we meet in the game. He appears to be overpoweringly strong as if he was a master player but is portrayed as a new player with no explanation.

Overall an interesting story that is just getting started. Will be looking for more just to see how all this develops.

Narration was a bit dry in places but overall seemed to fit the story.

Can not recommend a three hour story as a full credit purchase but would certainly be worth it at a discount price.

I received a copy of this audio book at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Could be better

Honestly this has a good story. However, I think it still has a number of areas it could be improved.

Epic!!!

Great story and narration!

Kirin is just your average guy-who-got-sucked-into-a-game. He is enjoying a nice simple life doing his daily quests, when all of a sudden he gets sent on a main storyline quest, and life starts to get a little more complicated. Guess its time to figure out how dungeons work. Does he need to register with the adventures guild?

I loved this one! This looks like the start of an epic series!

Born to be......Average?

This reincarnation litrpg may be the most Japanese concept book I've ever heard. A formerly successful business owner is reborn in a fantasy world but having run the rat race already he decides that he doesn't want to stand out. it was unconventional to say the least. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Short, but fun!

I loved this story, I can’t wait for the next volume!

Minor spoilers, continue at own risk!

I absolutely love when the main character is just stupidly OP and also has no idea what’s going on! The way this all panned out was nothing short of epic!

Interesting start to a new series?

I've listened to many litRPG books and Tycoon is unique in it's world mechanics, which is always a nice surprise. I also enjoyed how the novel opens directly with the litRPG world and sudden adventure without the need for an hour of exposition on how everything began. Tycoon has many interesting story elements and can clearly become a solid litRPG series. The short length of this book did lend to numerous unanswered questions and mysteries that would be much better served in a full length novel at least 2-3 times larger. I could have easily continued listening for many more hours if the story would have continued on, happily picking up subsequent books in the series.

The narration was well done and represents the story well. However, the sound did not come across as 100% professional studio quality in it's clarity and the voices of additional characters were not as distinct and different as other books I've listened to. With that in mind, 4 stars for the performance as the narrator kept me focused on the story throughout the listen and kudos for inserting the bells with the shop doors opening (that was a nice touch!)

Fascinating Start to This Series

"I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review."

Quite an interesting start to this series. Writing is good, story is a short fun listen. After a couple of chapters establishing the background, the action begins. I enjoy the LitRPG style this book has, and the main character is unique; which makes the story fun. I do wish that it would have been longer, but it is the first in a series.

Narration was great, I enjoyed the sound effects. They weren’t overpowering, and added to my enjoyment.
