Publisher's summary

Discover a Mafia conspiracy, a female undercover cop, a honed and fit target suspect, and sexy international sports star and billionaire playboy boxer, Freddie La Salle, in Emma Calin’s #1 Kindle best seller in the genre of romantic suspense.

The first story in the Passion Patrol Series introduces sassy female sleuths, romantic adventures, and thrilling mysteries.

Interpol cop, Anna Leyton, spirals down into a hopeless vortex of sexual and emotional turmoil, as she fights to keep her professional cool in her latest assignment. The action flies from London to Paris and to California and New York in this fast moving ride across continents. But just who is deceiving whom?

A high-stakes gambling syndicate is pulling the strings. A boxing referee is dead in a river, and millions of dollars are placed on Freddie’s next fight. Anna has to decide what really motivates the art-loving, prize-bull boxer Freddie La Salle.

Can she fake it? Can she nail the gangsters before her cover is blown? What will happen when the charismatic suspect she is tracking turns on his charm and seduces her? Will passion take control as she falls in love with him?

This is the story of a tense and erotic forbidden affair. Can a relationship survive when it is founded on deceit? Can she prove her lover is innocent? When her bosses let her down, vigilante justice is her only option. Will she escape with her life and her man?

The power of love and trust stands against greed and crime as conflicting forces grapple for that knockout punch.

An action-filled, pulse-pounding adventure story with a twist of suspense that will take you on a roller- coaster ride full of passionate romance, deception, danger, and love.

"Truth is a line like the Equator. To the South lies the tropic of exaggeration, to the North is the tropic of forgetfulness." - from Passion Patrol Series 1

"I want to kiss you at every monument and under every bridge." - Freddie to Ann from Passion Patrol Series 1

Combat Review...

Decent storyline and narration. Didn’t quite get the Mafia characters (a little soft and too brief). And the mother connection could have been woven in a bit more early on. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Enjoyable read

My fifth read/listen from author Emma Calin, my first that was not a short story. 228 pages, but it reads longer because of the detail woven into its depths. An enjoyable read, I'll be reading more by her after this book! Narrator Rebecca McKernan’s talented narration & Brutish accent adds greatly to the book’s enjoyment. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

An exciting romance thriller

Two people meet on a rainy London night, one a professional champion fighter, the other a Scotland Yard/Interpol Inspector. Both have secrets they are keeping from the other. A novel grabbing the reader and not letting go until the very end. Continuous action and unexpected directions taken keep attention on the story. Love this author! The audio version is well done adding to the interest. I received this free and am gladly voluntarily writing a review.

Great story!

Anna was a great character as a cop being in the position of investigating Freddie who she was involved with. Plenty of steam and some action with a great storyline as Freddie was a fighter and she was looking into the mob involvement in the fights. Freddie was also likeable and a great character. Some secondary characters were also well developed and likeable. Great story all around. As for the narrator, Rebecca McKeman, she was wonderful. Great accent and helped to bring this story to life. Also she read this story at a great pace and made it very enjoyable to listen to.

Anna & Freddie

This book was about a police Inspector assigned to a Metropolitan Police Task Force which is working with Interpol to bring down Mobsters and Crooked Sports Personalities prior to the London Olympics of 2012. Anna has left a cushy life where she could work for her family business, Layton Marine selling Luxury Yachts. She has worked her way up to the rank of Inspector which has not all been smooth sailing. Her ex-lover, who dropped her like a hot potato when she was the subject of an inquiry is leading this Task Force but heaven only knows why because he comes across as a toady fool!

Freddie is a boxer, he is also World Champion with a fight looming in the States. They literally bump into each other one evening when they both hail the same taxi which they end up sharing. She has no idea who he is and wants to chat with this attractive man without him knowing she's a police officer as this puts a lot of people off.

The attraction between these two is instant and hot and soon leads to more but as Freddie is part of her investigation how far can this attraction go? Well without giving spoilers I really can't say but it was an enjoyable read/ listen.

I purchased the book and then downloaded the audio version and my review is written voluntarily.

Worth the Ride

The narrator did not do it for me but the story was worth the listen. Organized crime, police drama, family drama, love based on deceit, betrayal on many levels all fill this story with several complications. The story spans the globe and the many interstices involved in human interactions. There was a lot of descriptions of her dressing and undressing. Freddie is cool to me though. This is a twisted tale. I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review.

One switched on Cop, meets her match!

A chance meeting, each concealing a different motive for a few minutes grabbed together. But, it wasn't enough. for either of them.
Each could loose a lot, but the attraction was far too strong.
WOW!! What a story, made so much more through the grating Londoner accent of the narrator.
I have read the book, but the audio made each scene come alive.
