Publisher's summary

Would you like to have the ability to "peer" inside people's minds and "read" their thoughts based on the sound of their voice? Do you want audiences to "hang on" to your every word with interest and attention? You can! The voice is a powerful communication tool – if you know how to analyze it and use it effectively yourself. Secrets of the Voice is a compelling guide to five essential elements that, once mastered, will help you analyze the mindset of people around you, and use your own vocal skills to influence others. Written by a world-renowned mentalist Ehud Segev, the book provides "insider" tips to discover people's true personalities through their speech patterns, as well as develop a strong and persuasive voice that will grab, engage, and inspire your listeners every time you speak.

The Web links....

...are irritating & distracting. I own hundreds of physical books but I buy audiobooks to keep from lugging books when I'm on the move. In a book about voice there is NO good reason to not record vocal/sound samples INTO the audiobook. Instead, there's not 1 sample but constant links to videos 5j dot biz slash voice slash something. To look at anything is both unnecessary & purpose defeating (for buying an audiobook). Made for an irritating, barely educational listen - which equals wasted money.

Horrible- Don't waste your money

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

This is one of those 'welcome to planet Earth' books that I can't stand. It explains things as if you were a 3 three year old- anyone with common sense already knows everything in this audio book. If you are three years old, you *might enjoy this book. It is literally a bunch of nothing, designed to take your money.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I am angry i purchased this worthless audio book. I literally wish I could get the time from my life back from this. I would have rather just sat quietly in traffic. Just listening to it angered me, because it is so full of non-information. I will never read anything else from this author.

Any additional comments?

In chapter 5, he is still telling you what you will learn later in the audio book. #*&@(#*&!!!!

Please look elsewhere for good guide on the topic

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Noone, really. Perhaps if you are COMPLETELY new to the world of voice performances, but probably not.

What could Ehud Segev have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

First of all, he wrote this book entirely as an ad-post for himself. Or, when he didn't brag about his own greatness, it was an ad-post for the very next chapter in this book. Not really necessary, since I already (regrettably) payed for it.
References to studies and the likes would not have been a bad move either.
Everything about this book, except for the very last chapter (the bonus chapter) is just ridiculous.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Talk about monotone voice... Luckily, you can speed the audible version up.

What character would you cut from Secrets of the Voice?

N/A

Any additional comments?

Please, don't repeat my mistake of paying for this book. Just look for some other source on this subject if you are interested. Any course or book on rhetorics should do.

A waste of time & money.

A big disappointment, mediocre level book, no real value, not at all recommended, You may have way more information that the ones presented in this “book”.

Mentalizer Mentalizer! Boring and incomplete.

What would have made Secrets of the Voice better?

Mentalizer Mentalizer Mentalizer.... The author should pay attention to the excessive repetition of his self-imputed title. Mentalizer Mentalizer Mentalizer... until we get full of it. Seem to be a propaganda of the "Master" depicted in the book.

What was most disappointing about Ehud Segev’s story?

The constant allusion to videos and other external sources of information. When I use an audiobook, I like to have all the information on it, with no deviations.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Dave Wright?

The same Dave Wright. He is very good as a narrator. This is not his fault. He had the obligation to play "The Wizard" as he told the story. The author must remember that this is not a fictional book.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Secrets of the Voice?

The autobiography of the author.
