This story was full of surprises. It didn’t have a snoopy, female sleuth: It had a genuine Texas Ranger running the show. I was expecting this to be a regular old cozy mystery, but this was more like a mystery romance. I loved all of the characters and I’m definitely interested in seeing where the next few books in the series will take me. The narrator was great with voices, but often sounded a bit robotic; kind of like she was reciting something she had memorized. But, that didn’t detract too much from the fun of listening to this book. I’ll be back to Texas soon to find out what else happens in this crazy little town.

This audiobook is, in my opinion, a romance first and mystery second. The romantic elements are good. The characters are well-drawn and likable. The plotting didn't seem to have any holes. I just would have liked it to be more focused on the mystery.

Sandra W Parker does a fine job of creating distinct voices for the characters and her Tizzy is excellent. I don't have any experience with Texas accents, but hers seems good. I did feel that some of the conversations (besides the Tizzy voice) were really stilted and unnatural.

Despite these small gripes, I enjoyed this cozy story.

A great cozy mystery set in a small town in Texas. The characters are a lot of fun, and I especially like Tizzy. She’s got spunk and an intriguing paranormal ability.

Emma Ames kept the story interesting, and the twist was well thought out. I can’t wait to see what the next case is for this gang.

Sandra W. Parker delivered a great performance. The accents were well done and her timing was spot on. I enjoyed it very much.

Fun story with romance and mystery and just enough quirkiness. The Texas ranger instead of the nosy neighbor was a great change from other mystery/fun/romances. If you like a fun romantic mystery you'll enjoy this book.

Fun romance with a mystery

This book is way more romance (more like teen hormonal romance) than mystery. Tizzy Donavon and her friends do lead you on a good laugh. So I will give this book 3 stars but it is not my cup of tea. I will say that Sandra W Parker does a wonderful job of narrating this book. I would listen to her again and I would give her 5 stars.
I was gifted this audiobook with the understanding that I would leave and honest review.

Little mystery lots of romance

This was a great small town romance. Ridge a big city detective comes to solve a murder in a small town where everyone grew up together and knows everything about everyone. His number one suspect is beautiful, single, and keeps giving him half truths. Narration was great, and it was a mystery until the very end.

This started out as a cozy mystery with a bit of a paranormal element to it. I don't want to give anything away so I will keep this review brief. Overall this was a fantastic mystery with an enough twists, turns and an ending that I was completely surprised by. The narrator did a great job and was easy to listen to. My only warning is that this was really an 18+ read due to the sexual content. There was only some minor language (no f-bombs) but there was a lot of foreplay in terms of reactions of the character's nether regions, some gropping, before and after bedroom scenes and some nudity, it wasn't overly descriptive but was prevalent enough to be in the PG13-R movie rating. That being said it was an awesome and very entertaining mystery that any adult cozy mystery fan will thoroughly enjoy.

Texas Ranger Ridge had been sent to a small possible town in Texas to investigate a murder. Tizzy, a widow with a small child, found the body of her sister in law on her husband's grave. It's up to Ridge to find the murderer but what should he do when the main suspect it's the woman who found the body and the the woman he's falling for. To top the whole thing of, she had a quirk that is hard to get a handle on.
Sandra W Parker is an excellent narrator whose Texas teach is fantastic!
