Publisher's summary

Secrets always come out in the end.

When you’re having a fling with your brother’s best friend...

Houston is a hot, snarky omega who will do anything for those he loves. He’s only done one sneaky thing in his life, and that was going to come out as soon as his secret boyfriend, Cody, got home from his latest tour of duty. Once they announced their relationship to his family, especially his brother who was a former squadmate and good buddy of Cody’s, things would be fabulous. What could possibly go wrong?

...but then the alpha soldier goes MIA after a chopper crash while on mission.

Cody was held captive by insurgents after his helicopter went down. When he finally gets home a year later, he’s battling a severe case of PTSD along with partial amnesia. He has no memory of being involved with his buddy’s sexy little brother with the cute-as-a-bug baby.

Two men who started with the best intentions until life pulled them apart.

How can Houston tell anyone, let alone Cody, that he’s the father of his baby when the anxious soldier doesn’t seem to remember having so much as dated him? Heck, Cody still thinks of him as the teen kid who came to see his brother graduate from basic training.

Skip ahead a few years, and Cody is enthralled by Baxley, Houston’s sweet three-and-a-half-year-old son. He’s kicking himself for not having asked the guy out when he had a chance. What would he have to offer him now?

A simple lab test for a desperately ill child is all it takes for secrets to emerge and Cody’s world to tilt on its axis. Cody and Houston have decisions to make. It will take faith, hope, the support of family, and maybe even a lifesaving gift to make things work out.

This m/m audiobook contains Mpreg and intended for 18-plus listeners. Trigger warning: This audiobook contains scenes of a sick child and an adult living with PTSD. Grab your Kleenex because this novel has triple the feels you’re used to from Susi Hawke and definitely includes an HEA and all the laughs, naughty, knotty times, and family fun you’d expect!

love Houston

Having read/listened to the other books first it it was great to finally get Houston's story. I love how he is both sassy and in touch with his emotions. The relationship with all the brothers and brothers in law is great.

Different and engaging

This is an interesting take on the second chance romance. Cody Wood returns from battle with PTSD and memory loss. The man he had fallen for is no longer the lover he left behind but merely his best friend's baby brother. Houston Logan, the lover/baby brother in question who has borne Cody a son he can't reveal to him at first, has to find his way back into Cody's heart, from where both we and Houston discover he had never left. Houston's over-the-top attitudes are balanced by his deep love for their son and his father, whom he never gave up hope of seeing again. And Cody's return to full memories, coupled with his new ability to manage his PTSD, is heartwarming. Baxley's illness, which is what begins the process of bridging the gap that war and time have opened between them, is an added layer of interest in a really poignant and wonderful story of love, which ends on a sweet note with their wedding. The narrator does a good job of evoking each man's character, and his switching between the different accents is quite enjoyable.

Worth the wait

I love this series and have waited for Houston's story. That sassy man finally gets his much deserved HEA. Susi Hawke as usual deals with some hard issues in a sweet, thoughtful and fun way. John Solo does a great job giving voice to these characters, there's never a question who the speaker is. A fun listen for my commute.

great listen

This was a sad but interesting book (tissues).
There was a lot of heartbreak and sadness in this book.
Dealing with an illness of a child and not knowing whether they will find a cure in time to save his life.
With love prayers and a lot of hard work, Houston and Cody found a way to save their son.
The narrator did a wonderful job with this book. A nice smooth voice that was pleasant to listen to.

My favorite so far!

I have been wanting Houston's story and OMG this doesn't disappoint! I just absolutely love Houston and Cody! Then for John Solo brings this story to life makes it even better. I was even more adamant that Houston needed to tell Cody that he is Baxley's father. Just an amazing stor by Susi Hawke and another amazing narration by John Solo.

Nice narration by John Solo

His fling with a man going off to war has Houston keeping the secret of his sons father. He didn’t feel the need to tell his family who the father was after Cody didn’t come home from the war. His son and his brothers and their families give him everything he needs. When Cody returns he has no memory of Houston. The truth finally comes out when an illness reveals the truth.

Another nice addition to the series. All the snark and family shenanigans made it enjoyable to listen to.

Houston!!!

This is my favorite book in this series. I have read all four. I LOVED Houston's character. B*** Please. lol. His and Cody's story was so cute. I love that Susi touched on PTSD in this story. How soldiers can come back and although I had never heard of an extreme case like Cody's, I loved that Dallas and his two boys set up a center to help people that go through that mental illness. As a person that has never been in the armed forces but do suffer from PTSD from other trauma in my life, it was touching to see the patience Houston had with Cody. He didn't try to force his memory on him and oh man. This story was just sooo cute.

I have already finished Lost in Austin as well so I have read the complete series and this was just an awesome series. I will recommend it to any and all who will listen. I have already read other books by Susi Hawke but this has been by far my favorite series of hers.

Love Houston!

I absolutely love Houston and am so glad to have his story. This one is very emotional and really got to me. Houston and Cody are wonderful together and it was really sad that Cody couldn't remember Houston because of his PTSD. They went through so much together and it was heartbreaking at times but it's a beautiful story with a spectacular HEA. The narrator did a fantastic job with the characters and with the range of emotions throughout this story.
