a satisfying romance

Would you consider the audio edition of Second Chances 101, A Ripple Effect Romance Novella to be better than the print version?

I thought the narrator did a fantastic job, and added a depth and emotion to the story that made it incredibly enjoyable to listen to.

Which character – as performed by Tiffany Williams – was your favorite?

I think I liked Sam/Rose the most! She was fun and felt like the kind of girl I wanted to be friends with in college!

Any additional comments?

I've always enjoyed Donna's books, but I think this one is my favorite. The characters in this book felt like people I knew. They were flawed and complex, with real issues and real redeeming qualities, along with their flaws. I think my favorite part of the book was actually the relationship between Rose and Francie. It added a depth to the story I thoroughly enjoyed.

The romantic tension between Alex and Francie was delicious while still being believable. I loved the boss/employee dynamic and how that influenced the story. My only complaint with this story is it ended too soon! I wasn't ready to say goodbye to the characters or to the relationships they'd forged. Such a satisfying read.

I was given an audio copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. This in no way influenced my review.

Loved it!

Would you listen to Second Chances 101, A Ripple Effect Romance Novella again? Why?

This story really surprised me--in a good way. These days, it's not often that a book can capture my attention right away, but this one did. From the first chapter, I was sucked it and didn't put it down until I'd finished. That's a huge compliment to Donna and her writing. LOVED this book. It's a beautifully written story, narrated well, and a perfect addition to this series. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

I loved The sweetness of the story and the hope of people being able to find true happiness and true love.
I love the way that The story was so natural - how it came together and was plausible.
It was an easy listen and the narrator did a fabulous job reading and doing voices and bring in the story to life.
It left me feeling good and I would definitely recommend it!

Wow, Great Story that Kept My Interest

Where does Second Chances 101, A Ripple Effect Romance Novella rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I very much enjoyed this book and feel it is every bit as good as any other good book I have listened to.

What did you like best about this story?

The writing was great! The story had no boring side trips or awkward phrasing. I am definitely a fan of the author. I like how the characters were human and flawed. I especially enjoyed the sweet relationship between Francis and Rose.

What does Tiffany Williams bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrator was definitely not annoying the way some are. Everything flowed well, and I enjoyed the hint of Southern accent that made it come alive

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened to it it all this morning while cleaning house and then doing my shopping. Normally I dread errands, but today they just flew by!

Any additional comments?

Content rating is mild: light kissing, no violence, and brief mention of past infidelity.

I really enjoyed this second chance novella!

I loved Francie and Alex's story! I've had a copy of this kindle book for a little while and have thought about it off and on over the years. I've seen them in a couple later books by this author and wondered about their story. I'm so glad that I finally was able to dive into their story.

They have some moments in their backgrounds that are hard and have had quite an impact on them. And their initial meeting isn't a meet cute by any means. Sort of a meet disaster, need a massive do-over. But I really loved how they realize that people make mistakes and are willing to forgive and move forward. Which is probably good because they're going to have a few more interactions that will need understanding and forgiveness.

I loved seeing the other connections in the story come about and unfold. They made me smile and made my heart happy for Alex and Francie. I loved Francie's home life and how kind and gentle she is. As well as her willingness to reach out to others whom she can sense are struggling and need help.

The sweet love story and friendship that develops between Alex and Francie was great. I really enjoyed it and kept hoping that they could work out their differences and find hope, joy and love with each other. *Happy sigh*

The narrator was delightful. I loved the feeling of family and healing that the story left me with.

Content: Clean. Some of the topics discussed are divorce, untoward advances (secondary characters), and emotional manipulation. All of these topics were address very well and not graphic in nature.

Happy Reading!!!

Francie and Alex's story

I'm a huge fan of Donna K. Weaver's stories. It was so nice to hear how Francie and Alex's second chance love story began, having met them when I read the REKD series.

This was definitely a wonderful story. I especially liked how Francie formed a bond with Alex's daughter before she realized who Rose was.

Well worth the listen!

Second Chances 101

I really enjoyed this one, especially since it involved more mature adults. Francie Davis is a recently widowed mom who is sending her son off to college (Harvard) and she is finally able to start community college and work there full time to subsidize her way. Her boss is Alex who is struggling with his own problems including his ex-wife and daughter. This one was great from beginning to end, from the slow burn between Francie and Alex to Sam seeking out Francie to learn about veggies and cooking. Definitely a recommend from me. Oh, and I had this one on audio and loved the narrator!

a great story

if youre looking for suspense or a plot twist. look away.

if you want a sex scene of any sort or diverse characters, they aren't here.

what is in here is a sweet, gentle love story of a poor widow who goes back to college (and a job there) and falls for her cranky boss.

these characters are actually adult in that they have conversations and have back stories.

I loved it.
