Publisher's Summary

Do Squire and Kelly have enough patience and faith to make their second chance possible?

After his deployment, injured and discharged Major Squire Ackerman returns to Three Rivers Ranch, anxious to prove himself capable of running the cattle operation so his parents can retire. Things would be easier if the ranch wasn't missing $1.6 million, which forces Squire to hire Kelly, the girl who rejected his high school prom invitation, as his accountant.

She's back in town with her four-year-old son, living in her parent's basement until she can get her life back together. With fresh ink on her divorce papers and open gashes on her heart, she's not ready for much beyond her new job on the ranch.

Squire wants to forgive Kelly for ignoring him a decade ago. He'd like to provide the stable life she needs, but with old wounds opening and a ranch on the brink of financial collapse, it will take patience and faith to make their second chance possible.

Great love story with excellent narration

It’s been about 3 years since I read this book and quickly continued to read the whole series! Listening to this audiobook years later reminded me of why I love this story! The author did a thorough job at introducing the second chance ranch series, creating a love for the characters and setting. The narrator did fantastic bringing the characters and story to life! Each character is distinct in voice and there was no confusion to who was speaking or if simply the narration. The Narrator is very pleasant to listen to. Great story all around!!!

Squire & Kelly

Great narration by Becky. Squire is holding a pretty big grudge against Kelly since high school. Kelly's divorce just finalized, and she does not think she is ready for another relationship.

First in a terrific series

I have not been listening to the Three River Ranch romances in order. That has not diminished my enjoyment. Each can be read as a standalone. Sweet, charming, contemporary cowboy romance. Pleasant listening or reading. A young boy and a dog do add to the fun. Thanks to the author for providing a copy for my voluntary review. I am eager to read more.

Love and forgiveness and a bit of danger

Kelly returns to Three Rivers to give her son Finn a home. She gets a job as an accountant on Three Rivers Ranch, a place she knows well from her childhood friendship with Chelsea Ackerman. Squire Ackerman is home again after military service that went wrong. He liked Kelly when they were growing up and still harbors feelings for her. Their romance starts in a shared search for over a million dollars missing from ranch funds over a period of five years. There are rocky bits along the course of true love. I enjoyed this lovely sweet romance and the bit of pulse pounding danger that comes after the truth is discovered about the missing money. The author provided an audiobook code to allow me to listen to this story.

Three Rivers Ranch series. Love y’all some cowboys.

Squire is back on the family ranch with a bum leg and bad memories (ptsd) from combat. There he sees Kelly the only girl he’s ever loved. She’s applying for the accountant job with the task of finding $1.6 million that’s missing. She also now has a son and a very recent messy divorce. Is there any chance they can get through the many obstacles and walls to a lasting relationship? Liz always does a great job and is a great storyteller. Light Christian overtones and a clean wholesome story. Narration is great - love the Texan drawl.
