Acerca de esta escucha
The Wilcox and Son Detective Agency is working on its second case file, but Matthew and his son Chance are beginning to think they might have bit off more than they can chew. Their investigation into a series of claim-jumps near the booming mining community of Wallace, Idaho, suddenly turns deadly as one witness after another turns up dead. It turns out that the theft of land and mineral rights is only the beginning of a much deeper conspiracy...
Matthew and Chance follow the leads as best they can, knowing full well that their investigation has turned into a game of cat and mouse...but who is the cat in this deadly contest?
Starting in the deep woods of North Idaho and culminating in the finest, most exclusive ballrooms of high society in Seattle, Washington, follow Matthew and Chance Wilcox as they match wits against one of the worst criminals they have ever faced!

A Good Story Made Brutally Difficult to Enjoy
I love the overall setting, scope, and narrative development by the author, Mr. Jeppsen. This book should have never been produced in audio format by Wolfpack publishing, a young, new company in Las Vegas, NV. It truly sounds as if several of the character voices were computer synthesized. Words and sentences are abruptly paused during the word itself.
Having listened to over 3,500 audiobooks this is the worst narration imaginable. It was the clever story by Mr. Jeppsen that gave me the stamina and endurance to listen to it in its entirety. I failed to listen to a sample of the book and that is my mistake. I just could not comprehend that an audiobook released in 2018, could possibly be this poor in audio performance.
I will continue the series either via Kindle or checking out the book from the local library.
