Publisher's Summary

His idea of permanence is the VW van that takes him from one gig to the next....

Owen Lawry has made a living as a traveling musician and enjoys his footloose and fancy free lifestyle. But after meeting Laura McCarthy and helping her to land the job as manager of his grandparents' hotel on Gansett Island, Owen decides there's something to be said about a roof over his head and a warm, sexy woman in his bed.

Laura, a newlywed who discovered that her husband never quit dating, came to Gansett for her cousin's Janey's wedding, but ended up staying after she met Owen and took on the renovations to the dilapidated Sand & Surf Hotel.

As Owen and Laura's attraction simmers during months of close proximity, they form a tight bond that will be tested when her estranged husband refuses to grant her a divorce. As summer turns to autumn and Laura and Owen take baby steps toward love, favorite characters from past Gansett Island stories continue to live their happily ever afters.

Did not like the voice.

To slow book is more up beat and fun. The voice made it seem depressing.

awesome story, narrator over the top

I dont know why, but I kept picturing a woman William Shatner as I listened to the narrator. love this series though, so I was able to overlook the unnecessary theatrics.

Narrator is old

Narrator sounds like an old woman. That alone makes the book almost messed up. Love the gansett island books though. This is my second time with the series.

scattered and in too many bedrooms.

like a bunch of outtakes or several novellas, lacked focus. repetitively providing back story on characters and entirely too much intimate detail about way too many couples.

Could not get into Narrator

Love all the Gannett Island books by Marie, BUT this Narrator I just could not get into and listen to her talk. She was slow and drawn out there was just no connection to her and what was happening.
I finally stopped listening and just opened up the kindle and read the book myself.

Different narrators

Would you consider the audio edition of Season for Love to be better than the print version?

I actually enjoy both versions equally

Who was your favorite character and why?

They are all favourites....but I adore Mac and Seamus is such a darling too

Would you be willing to try another one of Samantha Prescott’s performances?

No.
I am used to Holly Fielding narrating this particular series and I really enjoyed it....but it seems that audible has changed because I'm so sure when I originally bought it, it was narrated by Holly Fielding. I'm sorry, but Samantha Prescott does NOT do Seamus O'Grady convincingly to me - Holly Fielding did it far better and I really missed it.

I LIKE the narration!

Would you consider the audio edition of Season for Love to be better than the print version?

I didn't read the print verson. I like the audio version and think the narriation is really good. I look for audiobooks by this narriator. I find dramatic narration discracting and just want somebody to read to me.

What other book might you compare Season for Love to and why?

All of the books in this series are great! I'm hooked!

Have you listened to any of Holly Fielding’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've listened to many. She does not dissapoint me. I don't like overly dramatic narration...her style suits me.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

All of the books in the series typically does both.

Any additional comments?

I love this series. I think it would make a great TV movie or series similar to Cedar Cove.
