Season 2, Episode 5: Oosik Classic

This is The Blue Tarp, stories from Alaska’s Northern Susitna Valley as told by those who lived them. This season has been focused on events unique to the area. Today, we’re looking at another annual gathering that brings hundreds of people to Talkeetna each March. In most years, it is a reminder that Spring is right around the corner, and in 2020, its cancelation served as one of the first indicators of how significant the COVID-19 pandemic would be for life in the area.
