This collection of standard and 19 alternate Scriptural Rosary Mysteries offers a devotional and contemplative option to praying the Rosary for thriving in today's world. It is with the thoughts below in mind that I have included the standard 4 Rosary mysteries and created additional contemporary emotion topic based Scripture mysterious that can be prayed with using a Rosary. In a US Catholic bishop’s Pastoral Letter on the Blessed Virgin Mary titled “Behold Your Mother,” they wrote, “Besides the precise rosary pattern long known to Catholics, we can freely experiment. New sets of mysteries are possible.” John Paul II in his Apostolic letter Rosarium Virginis Mariae proclaimed 2003 the Year of the Rosary. Highlights of his letter include: “Announcing each mystery, and perhaps even using a suitable icon to portray it, is as it were to open up a scenario on which to focus our attention. ”I turn particularly to you, my dear Brother Bishops, priests, and deacons, and to you, pastoral agents in your different ministries: through your own personal experience of the beauty of the Rosary, may you come to promote it with conviction.” It is with these thoughts in mind that I have included the 4 Rosary mysteries and created 19 additional contemporary emotion topics (including a Patriotic Rosary) Scripture mysterious that can be prayed with using a Rosary.

In order to assist in the contemplation process, these mysteries include a James Tissot painting for each decade along with a Lectio Divina reflection that can be used for a specific scriptural mystery. The idea is to have each mystery reveal its hidden personal meaning. I have also included an introductory related Old Testament scripture passage for the mysteries which help to bridge the Testaments as a precursor for Jesus's action. My goal with the book is to encourage others to create their own mysteries as a way of exploring Scripture's positive influence on our daily life.

The book is available in many versions that provide a cost point based on distribution cost. For instance the Kindle version is a less expensive option. The most expensive is a large book is expensive because of paper size and all the color images that are included. There lowest cost book format is 6 x 9 and black and white images. If you have a Kindle Unlimited subscription this book is extremely economical. For those of you that are not Catholic I believe that this collection of Rosary mysteries can still be used in your prayer life by simply not including the second half of the Hail Mary. The scripture within comes from the base version of the NSRV Bible which all Christians share.
