Extremely poor audio quality

What would have made The Feynman Lectures on Physics: Volume 11, Feynman on Science and Vision better?

If you could actually hear the speaker. The quality of these recordings is so poor at parts you can barely make out if its feynman or not, let alone what he's saying.
