Publisher's Summary

From five to seven times each night, we dream - and glimpse into a reality not normally available to us. Now Jungian psychoanalyst and author Clarissa Pinkola Estes explores the symbols, themes, and insights of these "letters" from our unconscious, with the beginning student in mind.

From common dreams such as flying, falling or being chased, to the seven types of unusual dreams, The Beginner's Guide to Dream Interpretation demystifies popular misconceptions and offers concrete techniques for recalling and uncovering the hidden meanings of your dreams for inspiration and guidance. For anyone eager to make sense of these "gifts from the dreammaker," here is an accessible new primer from this eloquent authority in dreams and their archetypal power.

It was not what I expected.

The book was too general on the subject matter. Even though I did not expect to find out all that there was to know about interpreting dreams, I was hoping for more information. The monotone voice of the speaker made it hard for me to listen. I was disappointed.

Very Useful

The author explains how to interpret dreams based on exploring what the elements in the dream mean to yourself. I used her method and found myself quite suprised what a dream meant, and yet could see clearly that it was a reflection of how I was feeling at the time. I listen to it every few years.

This is pretty short so you'll have to decide if its worth a credit. Its probably worth buying if it goes under $10 for a sale. However if you truly want to understand your dreams and are willing to try her method this is a worthy book.

The Dream Maker

Where does The Beginner's Guide to Dream Interpretation rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is my first audiobook, and I like it very much. I can listen and work on my digital artwork at the same time.

Approach to dream interpretation best I have experienced

Best, most helpful, approach to dream interpretation from an outstanding author and teacher on many levels.
No actual "story" but excellent supporting examples offering "tools" that can easily be incorporated into one's life.

Disappointing

I was really disappointed with this one. I really thought I would be able to garner some useful information, and apply it to my own dreams. Sadly, it was a really "fluffy", "nothingy" listen and I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone else!
